I'm fine (Min Yoongi ff)

Chapter seven

He ate his sandwich in silence. Somehow it turned out that he was sitting alone. All his friends got lost somewhere - maybe they went to the lockers or went outside, as it was getting warmer? Yoongi was not too bothered by it. He was going to see everyone in 10 minutes on the lesson, anyway.

He felt someone's eyes on him and looked up, watching side to side. To his surprise, he noticed Ani standing about three meters from him. She was facing him and was staring directly at him.

"Hi" he smiled gently. He didn't want to scare her.

"Hi" she muttered as she took a step forward. She looked at him uncertainly, then sat down at the far end of the bench at the very edge.

Yoongi continued eating his sandwich. He didn't know if he should say something. Ani didn't say anything. She just sat in silence, leaving enough space between them for three more people. Yoongi was starting to feel awkward.

"I passed the math test" she said finally, peering at him from under her eyes.

"Congratulations!" Yoongi smiled, but Ani rolled her eyes.

"The one you solved for me" she corrected "I wanted to... thank you. My mom was very happy. She was afraid that I would not pass"

"No problem" Yoongi assured her, still unable to believe that she was saying something to him. He knew it was stupid, but he wanted to dance happily.

"I thought maybe… you could help me with it a little bit” she gasped and blushed terribly.

"Sure!" Yoongi picked up immediately "I can sit next to you on the math" he suggested.

"No" she shook her head "I prefer when you sit… further"

"It will be a bit difficult to teach you from a distance" he looked at Ani knowingly, and she just pursed her lips.

"I don't feel too… comfortable so close to others" she confessed, nervously twisting her fingers.

"Yes, I noticed" admitted Yoongi "Maybe… we should get to know each other better first so you don't have to feel uncomfortable when I help you with math?"

The question came faster than he could think. He wanted so much to take the opportunity that had come across... He mentally begged Ani not to be scared as he looked at her furrowed brow.

"Okay..." she replied cautiously, and Yoongi could not stop the smile that appeared on his face "But... how?"

"Maybe I could walk you home after school?" he asked about the first thing that came to his mind. Ani's eyes widened in terror.

"Already?" she squeaked.

"I won't come too close to you" he assured her.

For a moment she thought hard, looking at Yoongi with indecisive eyes. Yoongi resisted her gaze, hoping deeply that she would agree. When the bell rang, Ani finally nodded her head.

"Okay. Just… keep the distance"

"Don't be afraid" he reassured her with a smile, rising from the bench "I will not do anything strange. We're just gonna get to know each other slowly. As slowly as you like"

Ani didn't seem satisfied at all. She got up from the bench and ran away from him as quickly as possible.

He waited in front of the school until Ani came out. He was a little nervous. If he doesn't scare her now, maybe she will agree to see him more often. He felt as if their further acquaintance depended on this meeting, and he couldn't stop the nerves that twisted his stomach. Even before making public appearances, he wasn't so stressed.
