My sister went missing about a week ago. We thought she had been at a friends house but we soon found her body. Well, I found her body. She didn't appear to be hurt, but she wasn't alive. The doctors concluded it was hypothermia. But it was summer. It was barely 60 degrees at night. There's no way Hypothermia had caused this.

After finding my little sister, who was barely 7, I began to fall angry. With myself and everyone who promised she'd be okay. I loved- love my sister. But knowing our last interaction was short, I wish I'd kept her home with me. I felt responsible.

So did my parents.

They blamed me that if I hadn't been so ignorant and rude, my sister would still be alive. But I didn't care what people had to say anymore. My sister was dead and I couldn't change that no matter how much I wished and begged God to bring her back.

I never understood how people could blame a 12 year old for something so serious and terrible. Especially when it wasn't their fault.

I was determined to find what caused her to have a short life. I borrowed lore books and Derry History books from the library.

Not much was in there about people getting Hypothermia in summer. But there was something that happened every 27 years. People would go missing and never return home. Most of the missing people were never found. Except one. Patty Norris.

I kept researching Patty, trying to find any kind of information on her. I learned she still lives in Derry. She apparently lives right by The Well House.

The Well House was an abandoned house that was once occupied by a circus family. I heard that they left, leaving all their belongings. They never returned and many people assumed that it was haunted. Appearantly a well sat in the heart of the house. But I wouldn't know. I was never allowed near it.

So of course, curious teenagers, looking for an adventure, go looking in the house. Some never made it out. About 10 years ago, it was closed off and pronounced dangerous.

I went to Patty's house and saw that it looked abandoned, much like The Well House. It creeped me out. I never understood why people found old creepy houses so fascinating and appealing.

Becuase I was standing there, in front of the house, scared shitless of what I might find. I'm not expecting a dead body or anything crazy. But the answer I might get horrified me.

Walking up to the door I notice something. It was an old pocket watch, hanging from the door bell. Confused, I moved aside and rang the door bell.

Minutes later an older woman appeared from behind the door. She looked tired and frail. Her hair matted as if water and a brush hadn't ever touched it. Her clothes were tattered and ripped. Her face was wrinkled in places you'd think impossible.

I smiled warmly at her and explained why I was there. She stared at me for a long time before telling me to come in. I kindly obliged and walked in.

Her house seemed organized but I noticed a thin layer of dust everywhere. Far too dusty for my liking. I could feel a sneeze coming and didn't want to be rude. So I began breathing through my mouth, plugging my nose, and waiting for the sneeze to pass. When it did, I turned to the woman.

I explained to her about my sister and what had happened. She seemed really sad at first but when I mentioned the summer hypothermia, she began screaming and yelling for me to get out. Her sentences were incoherent and slurred. I assumed she was having an episode but listened to her and left.

Despite never getting answers, I am now 28, and happy. I miss my sister dearly and wish things had been different. I heard that old woman still lives at that house, keeping anyone from going in. I moved out of Derry, and married Eddie Kaspbrak. We settled down in New York and had 4 beautiful children. Twins who were 5, two boys. A daughter who was 10, and another daughter who was 15. All five years apart.

Just like me and my sister were.
