The next weekend had arrived just as fast as the last one passed and on a warm Saturday afternoon, Kate sat by the lake with her feet dipped in the water, taking some time off from books to think about things that she thought should be given a second thought to. As she sat there, she thought more deeply about if anyone had even tried to clear off Sirius's name, and realised that her own efforts of clearing his name had been put to an abrupt pause.
She couldn't handle seeing Sirius just hiding out anymore. So, without a second thought, she sprang up to her feet. She knew that if Dumbledore could have helped her last time, surely he remembers and wouldn't deny helping her again.

She dashed inside the castle and then suddenly bumped into someone so hard that she was almost about to fall but was caught right on time. She looked up to see the familiar Hufflepuff boy and former Yule Ball date, Cedric Diggory.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Cedric," Kate said in embarrassment.
"It's okay, what are you doing inside the castle on such a nice day?," Cedric chimed, smiling ever so politely.
"I just remembered something, actually," Kate said looking at her watch, "I'll catch you in a bit."

But as she took steps up the staircase, she began to realise that she didn't even know where Professor Dumbledore's office was and how she would get through to him. Fidgeting with her luck, Kate heard someone clear their throat loudly above her and looked up to see Professor McGonagall towering over her.
"Yes, Miss Black?", she asked surveying Kate under her spectacles.
"Um...Professor, I want to see Professor Dumbledore. Please," Kate said nervously.
"Dumbledore? Why would you want to see Dumbledore?" Professor McGonagall said curtly.
"Please, professor. I have to ask him something, it's urgent, please" Kate pleaded. Without another word, McGonagall led her towards another set of stone staircases on the seventh floor and came to a stop in front of a stone gargoyle.

"Cockroach clusters," said Professor McGonagall. The gargoyle moved and revealed a door, from there Professor McGonagall had left and Kate slowly opened the door, and entered what seemed to be Dumbledore's office as she remembered from last year. Now that she wasn't so upset, she looked around and noticed that it was a beautiful and large circular room, lined with shiny silver objects, the wall was covered with photos of previous headmasters and headmistresses.
As Kate stared around in awe she didn't notice Professor Dumbledore standing in front of her.
"Quite delighting, isn't it?" the old Headmaster said, his eyes twinkling behind his half-moon spectacles.
"It's spectacular!" Kate beamed. Professor Dumbledore had asked her to take a seat and said he was waiting for her to come, which Kate thought was a bit curious.
He offered her pumpkin juice while she thought of how to ask him what she came to ask, or if it was even possible anymore.

"Professor, I wanted to ask you something. Something related to Uncle Sirius," I said.
"Of course, Miss Black, anything"
"Professor, over the summer. We tried to clear his name, do you think we can continue trying?" Kate blurted out.
"Oh, certainly, Miss Black," he said softly.
"Professor, I really want to help him and do something about it because he's innocent," Kate insisted.
"Hmm, of course, I understand. You can come to my office right after breakfast, then we shall go to the Ministry. And don't forget to dress formal," said Professor Dumbledore.
