{1} strange beginnings

(y/n's out with her two friends abby and madi for a night out to clubs and bars around Los Angeles in the year 2019. you are 21 and are more in the middle class. abby and madi have been your best friends since middle school. you all share an apartment in LA. you love to skateboard and cook and you are more on the tomboy side which means you love to watch streamers, youtube, and play video games.)

Setting • Downtown LA at some bar

"Dude i'm telling you the place across the street has THE BEST chicken and waffles.". Abby trips over her words, seemingly very drunk. You realize that abby, even being almost blackout drunk, sure can find the best food in town. Being in LA felt surreal knowing that just turning 21 and finally moving in with your bestfriends has been something you've been dreaming of since high school.
"Ooh ooh!! I know what we can do, I heard there was gonna be a huge block party a couple miles away! We should definitely take an uber and see what's going on". Madi on the other hand, is more sensible and the "mom" of the group stereotype. She's the best at finding all the cool spots and making sure we are looking our sharpest. "Hell yeah that sounds perfect, i'll pay" You say almost regretting it because seeing abby, you're not too sure she's sober enough to get anywhere without puking her brains out.

15 minutes pass

Our uber arrives and we all go in and settle down while Madi tells the uber dude where our destination is. Looking out the window seeing this city feels so surreal. Especially because getting out of a bad relationship that caused major damage is something you'd not wanna think about, and using this as an escape from everything really helps.

2 minutes pass

"Here we are ladies! Enjoy the rest of your night"says the uber driver. Abby stumbles out of the car, taking a look around this party. "Oh my god!! There's so many cute guys." Abby exclaims practically running towards the crowd. Madi on the other hand tips the driver and gestures for me to also get to walking towards the place. As soon as we get to the big crowd of people you immediately lock eyes with a tall, blonde headed, glasses wearing, pale skinned guy, further away from the crowd. A couple seconds later you feel a hand on your shoulder, snapping you out of what felt like a staring contest at this point. "Yo y/n! What are you doing bruh?" Madi says as she hands me a mojito. "Oh uh, nothing in particular. Where's Abby?". Madi points in a different direction facing towards Abby flirting up a storm with some random dude. "I better go check on her, have fun y/n, loosen up you look tense!". As Madi walks away you think that you finally have a chance to speak to that one guy you locked eyes with earlier, but looking in the direction of where he once was, there's no one to be found . You decide to walk through the crowd and see if you can spot him. Being 5'2 sucks in this situation because everyone is much taller than you and it's super hard to see. Then out of nowhere as you stumble through the crowd you feel a firm grip on your arm and a hand covering your mouth dragging you away. You try to scream, but with your screams being muffled and the loud music, it's no use. In your mind you think "How the hell do I get free?".
