As much as both siblings were eager to get their karate training started right away after Johnny's uplifting speech, they all soon realized that they couldn't train if they didn't have a dojo. So before any training could start, Johnny had to buy his new dojo. Even though the waiting made her anxious, Amelia had more pressing matters at hand. Her first dance practice.
During her time at Riverside High School, Amelia was one of the first freshmen to be on the varsity dance team in 10 years giving her a lot of pride and social standing with other dance teams in the area. In light of this, when Amelia found out that they were moving schools for her mom's job, she tried out for the Reseda High School dance team over the summer and had her first dance practice today. It was safe to say that waiting on the new dojo was not the only cause of her nerves. The young girl was freaking the fuck out.
Amelia enters the school's dance studio around 15 minutes early, putting her backpack near the others. All of the girls were sitting into mini groups while the two captain's were standing going over papers with their coaches. She stood at the entrance awkwardly which caught one of the girl's attention.
One of the girls stands up from her little group and walks over to her. The girl was light skinned, had hazel eyes and had her long brown hair with blonde highlights tugged into a messy bun. She was wearing a simple gray tank top, a pair of camo cargo jeans and some black high tops. She seemed like the girl to go to concerts with, going surfing with and spend all day riding rides at an amusement park.
She smiles and says, "Hey you must be the new girl, Amelia, right?" She holds out her hands for Amelia to shake and introduces herself, "I'm Harley Harding but most of the girls call me Q. You know? Like Harley Quinn?"
Amelia smiles thankfully at Harley and shakes her hand, trying her best to be as confident as the girl in front of her. She chuckles, "Yeah, that's me. I get what you mean though! I love her in the comics!"
Harley exclaims, "Sweet," and gestures back to the group of girls she was sitting with, continuing, "Come on, I'll introduce you to the girls."
She drags Amelia by the arm to her group and plobs her down into the circle, announcing, "Guys, this is Amelia. The new recruit."
Amelia waves slightly towards the group, smiling confidently to hide the nerves underneath.
Another one of the girls, to her right, giggled, "Harley be careful! You're gonna scare her off! I'm Alannah Barker, but everyone just calls me Lana."
Alannah had bright red hair that cut off right before her hips, pale skin which had freckles dancing across her skin, and brown doe eyes. She was wearing a fitted white t-shirt, skinny jeans with rips all down her legs and bright red high converse, all in which accentuate her curves in a really good way. Alannah's bright smile put Amelia at ease instantly, almost like a mother's smile would. She was definitely the mom friend.
The next dancer to speak up was the latina girl sitting across from her. She winked at her and said, "I'm Carmen Espinoza, nice to meet you kiddo. My friends call me Camy."
Carmen had lightly tanned skin, wavy dark brown hair that cut off around the end of her shoulder blades and steel blue eyes. She was wearing an off-the-shoulders, fitted gray long sleeve, dark blue skinny jeans and black combat boots. To Amelia, Carmen seems like the type of girl that wants to go on crazy adventures like driving around the beach after midnight, spontaneous road trips to another state and playing at abandoned parks. Just Amelia's type of person.
The girl to Harley's left was the last to speak up, holding out a peace sign, "I'm Nevaeh Blanchard but most people call me Vaeha. It's cool to have another hip hop girl considering we're about to lose a bunch next year."
