-What is it darling? - Asked Lady Lidiane, looking at her granddaughter.

-Mommy! - She replied, squirming to climb down. - She's home!

-Huh? - Surprised, Ivar stared at his daughter.

Lady Lidiane put Ionee down, following her with a bewildered gaze as she bolted out of the parlor, the moment her feet touched the floor.

-Your wife is back? - Said Kai, looking at the two of them.

-It would appear so. - Replied Ivar.

-And your child was able to sense her before any of you? - Kai Stared at the two of them wide-eyed. - How is that even possible? Are her senses really so exceptionally sharp?

-Well, her senses are as sharp as you'd expect of the amethyst gene carrier, but this ability of hers is just a phase. - Said Lady Lidiane. - And it's only limited to her parents alone. While she can not detect other's presence any more than you or Ivar could at her age, she always knows when either her mother or father returns home from some time of absence. It's more due to the bond they share, rather than the sharpness of her senses.

-Interesting. - Remarked Kai. - I have never heard of such a phenomenon.

-Is that so? Well, I have. - Replied his mother with a smile. - You and Ivar both had gone through this phase as well when you were little.

-Did we? - Both Ivar and Kai looked at their mother.

-Indeed you did. - She smiled. - But then it passed as your other senses started developing more. So, it may be the same with Ionee.

-Well, one thing I can say for a fact, is that you produced quite the beautiful child, Ivar. - Kai teasingly smacked Ivar's arm. - Although, she doesn't really look like you all that much. I'm sorry, brother, but she is way prettier than you ever were as a child. - He laughed.

-Ah-hah, yes I know. - Replied Ivar with a chuckle. - She looks very much like her mother and only inherited the O'Rell iconic hair and eye color. She's also just as brilliant as she is.

-And just as cheerful and energetic. - Added Lady Lidiane. - That little girl sure knows how to keep you on your toes.

-Now I can not wait to meet this mysterious woman you've married. - Laughed Kai. - To be honest, when you were young, I thought you and Damaris were destined to be together.

-Everyone thought so. - Replied Ivar. - But it just wasn't meant to be. Damaris and I are very different. I couldn't form a bond with her.

-Really? - Kai tilted his head at Ivar. - Honestly, to me, the two of you were far too alike. You two were equally ambitious and driven as far as I recall.

-Perhaps when we were young. But, people do change as time passes. - Replied Ivar.

-Perhaps. Can't argue with that. In any case, I can not wait to meet with all of them as well. Aries, Damaris, and Assarel... I can not wait to see what kind of people they grew into. In fact, I just can't wait to get myself reacquainted with my world all over again and catch up on everything I've missed. - His eyes longingly dropped to the floor.

-You will. - Said Ivar, placing his hand on Kai's shoulder. - And we will be here with you and help you adjust every step of the way. Oh, here they come... - Suddenly he turned to the entrance as he sensed Stacie and Ionee approaching it.

Ionee rushed towards the main entrance of the mansion and impatiently bounced up and down, while the attendant opened that grand door for her with a smile on his face. He's used to always running into this adorable little thing at the entrance each time her parents returned home. Before he even manages to make it there, she always beats him to it. And every time, barely a crack appears in the door, she flies through it like a little bird to greet her beloved people with shouts and giggles of joy.
