Chapter 20: THE DAARI MARKETS

This day was especially exciting for Stacie. She finally was going to visit the famed Daari markets on a planet called Navoy. Daari was a race of merchants and traders that created the largest, intergalactic trading post on a planet, that was considered a neutral territory, where merchandise could be traded from anywhere by anyone in their part of the galaxy. As long as it passed legalizing inspection and approval stamp of the alliance of that region, which consisted of Daari, Satterans, and Zhalians. Three most influential civilizations of their galaxy.

After going through all the brought back items from the island, they have decided to trade off some of the non-essentials, such as house-ware, jewelry, and clothing at the Daari markets for much-needed technological necessities. And so captain and some of his team along with few of the Satterans was preparing for a trip to the planet Navoy. For the first time, Stacie was going to visit an alien planet that wasn't barren or wild. She was very excited to see an actual civilization and a way of life in the Pegasus Galaxy. Navoy planet's atmosphere was very similar to Earth's. The region where the markets were located, was lush with greenery. The Daari could not have selected more perfect spot for a trading post, which was about an hour away from the stargate portal by shuttle. Which actually felt like a whole eternity to Stacie. Feeling extremely excited, she found herself as jittery and impatient as a kid, on the trip to a theme park or something. Finally, they have arrived and at a huge checkpoint gate that was inside a gigantic wall, which emitted a dome-like forcefield over the entire vicinity of the markets, protecting it from probable raids, figured Stacie. As they passed the gate, their shuttle got scanned for its content, and they were welcomed in. A most beautiful, large plaza opened up before them. It was a shuttle landing spot, surrounded by the shuttle parking buildings, inns, diner shops, entertainment facilities, gardens with fountains and more. Further past the plaza, is were actual markets began and stretched as far as an eye could see with multiple trading posts, shops and stalls, offering the most diverse and unusual things that one could ever imagine.

After getting a bit of a tour of markets given to them by Kylus and professor Torrent, who also came along because he didn't trust the earthlings with getting the value of the ancients items, that it's worth. After making some trades along the way for local currency, it was time to do some shopping, and pretty much the entire team split up in all directions. Laura asked Alice to accompany her to the shop with a lab and medical merch that she and Janice usually stop by at. Janice wanted her to look into some things for her, while she was here. Danny dragged Tony off towards shops that offered some exotic jewels and trinkets, to help him find a gift for Alice. He took it upon himself to help Tony with his love life. And that left Stacie in the company of Captain, Mr. Stephen. professor Torrent and Kylus. Being unfamiliar with the market yet, and feeling very overwhelmed and bewildered by everything she was seeing, she just followed the remaining group from one shop to another.

-Are you enjoying yourself? - Kylus asked Stacie.

-Oh definitely! - She replied enthusiastically. - This place is so incredible! I have never seen anything like it before.

-Is it different from your home planet?

-You know, strangely it is very different, and yet at the same time, somehow similar, in a way.

-When we have the time, there's is this one Zhalian shop that produces the most delicious pastries, I think you might enjoy. Zhalians are famous for their most exquisite delectables.

-Ah, so you mean it's a bakery of a sort?

-What is a bakery?

-That's what we call pastry shops.
