It was late when everyone had finally fallen asleep. All of them on the bed in some way or another. Namjoon holds Yoongi in his arms as Jungkook hugs him from behind. Hoseok lays at the foot of the bed with Jimin spooning him, their legs entangled together, and their hands holding each other loosely as they let out even breaths. It was peaceful and quiet, the perfect conditions for sleeping.

Yet Taehyung just couldn't sleep.

He's tried just telling himself it was because it felt so weird to be in a bed with several people at once. He's attempted to chalk it up to nervousness of accidentally cuddling someone who wasn't comfortable with it. It's happened before, and he wasn't sure he wanted to deal with the annoying repercussions again.

So, he stands up from his position on the chair with a stretch and begins to walk out of the room quietly. He would feel terrible if he had woken anyone up because of restlessness.

He steps out of the room, closing the door to the bedroom quietly before he turns around. With the moonlight illuminating the room, Taehyung's heart stops when he sees an awake Seokjin, sitting perfectly still with an oddly complex look in his eyes. Taehyugn tenses for a second, his eyes wide with a sort of mortification, but Seokjin only looks up at him with hooded eyes.

Taehyung wasn't sure if he should feel guilty or not about the thoughts in his mind revolving around Seokjin looking like a demi-god in such lighting. He swallows hard, eyes looking everywhere but the eyes that bore into him at the moment.

"Uh, can't sleep?" Taehyung asks awkwardly, and he feels like facepalming right then and there. Really? Did he have to ask such an obvious question? He takes in and holds a breath, preparing himself to just walk away to the kitchen and maybe grab himself a bottle of water from the fridge.

But then he hears Seokjin laugh softly.

It wasn't like full-blown laughter. It wasn't like Seokjin was at a John Mulaney comedy show and laughing so hard he was crying. But soft laughter at a silly little something that someone would do. Taehyung stops holding his breath and looks at Seokjin with slight confusion, befuddled as to why the male would be laughing.

"Obviously not," Seokjin responds, his smile lasting for a moment before it eventually disappears. The moment not long enough to satisfy Taehyung, but long enough for him to save such a snapshot in his mind. It was a pretty smile.

"I- uh..." Taehyung swallows. Should he really be talking to this resort staff? Of course, Taehyung wasn't fond of Seokjin considering the man was part of something much bigger than a resort for soulmates. But at the same time, he felt pity for the man. He couldn't imagine not being able to feel his soulmates calling. Of course, when people go through daily life, they barely feel their calling. That's why finding their soulmate is damn near impossible. But not feeling anything at all? That must feel so... empty. Taehyung would surely go insane. "Why are you up?"

Seokjin chuckles again. "It's not exactly easy to fall asleep tied uncomfortably to a chair." He admits, and Taehyung blushes and looks away. Alright, the pity factor was beginning to overweigh anything else he was feeling. It wouldn't hurt if he just decided to untie the ropes, right? Taehyung is interrupted from his thoughts as he looks at Taehyung. "Why are you up?"

Taehyung tenses slightly, not expecting for Seokjin to actually ask him a question in return. He swallows, thinking of the least embarrassing reasoning for him being awake. So, he shrugs nonchalantly and crosses his arms.

"The bed was full." He says simply, although he clearly remembers that one delicious spot behind Jungkook that he would've loved to take up. To hold the attractive male in his arms. Or maybe be the little spoon to Hoseok and fall asleep to him playing with his hair. Jimin seemed to quite like Hoseok's hair rubs. "Didn't want to make everyone uncomfortable because of me, so I just decided to stay up for a few hours longer," Taehyung explains. Seokjin nods in a way to prove that he was listening. Taehyung wasn't sure why it felt so easy to talk to Seokjin.
