Visitation
That morning my mind was clouded with different Bible verses. I specifically remembered Ephesians
5:25 which I read the previous night. As I was pondering over the Biblical content my phone started
vibrating. It was my Rita, 'Dad umelalaje?' she asked. 'Nimelala poa, na wewe swtat?' I asked.
'Sijalala poa' She responded. That statement almost killed me instantly. You all know Rita is
expectant with our twins. You don't expect such statements to come from someone who is
expectant for the first time. 'Kwa nini, mna shida?' I asked with so much concern.
'Dad, hujanimiss?' She asked. 'Mimi nimekumiss sana, siwezi ngojea uningize hio kitu yako
tamu' she continued. From her voice it was clear she was horny. I knew my Rita well. I am able to
differentiate when she is horny and when not. 'Nikikam ntakupanulia uingize yote' she said. That
statement washed all the Bible verse I was pondering on. But luckily it was my wife. There was no
problem for my sugarcane to behave the way it did. I will not tell you how it behaved and it's not
what you are imagining.
'Dad, sister yangu na Aunty wako njiani wanakam, watafika in 2 hrs' she told me. Rita promised to
come over immediately her sister gets back home. Hope you remember my friend Beatrice Biyaki
had not been laid to rest. 'Mbona uskuje after mazishi?' I asked Rita.
'Home hakutakua na mtu, Muthoni ataenda job Kitengela na mum hatakua pekee. Ntakaa nayeye
hadi Aggy warudi. Alf pia sitak iyo usiku ukinikula nipige nduru Aunty washangae' she said point
blank. This is not necessary but Rita was a woofer in bed. Her motivational screams could make you
hit the honey jar like a Monster. Yes, screams are meant to motivate, nothing else.
At about noon I received a distress call from a strange number. I picked it on the third call. 'Karibu
tunafika town, Uko wapi?' A familiar voice asked. 'Ni nani?' I asked just to be sure. 'Ni Aggy, simu
yangu ilianguka kwa maji, natumia ya Aunt'. They confirmed they were aboard Kensilver bus. We
agreed to meet at Tea room.
I dressed up, carried my car keys and went down to the parking lot. It was the first time I ignited my
harrier since the day I came back. I drove and arrived in town earlier than them. I parked the car
behind Western express coaches building and waited.
At 2Pm, 2 hours late, they arrived. For those wondering why they came late, remember they were
aboard Kensilver. I don't know why they call it so, if it were me I was to name it Mwenda pole. I
know it's their Aunt who chose it. If it were Aggy, am sure she could have gone for the Manyanga's
or those aeroplane speed matatus.
What shocked me, when we met, is they were three. Aggnezzy, her Aunt Florence and her cousin
Monicah. The one who I told you was in form three at Nyabururu girls. We exchanged greetings and
they entered in the car. Aggy sat in front, her Aunt Florence behind her and her cousin behind me. I
