The Adventure Begins

Dusk's POV

I wake up to the noise of something hitting my window. As I roll out of bed, my Dratini wakes up and slithers over to the window. I look out the window and sees a certain purple haired boy in a baseball cap. I open the window.

"Leon it's still dark out what do you want?!" I yell.

"Today we start out Pokémon adventure!!!" He yells.

"It's not even day yet!!!" I yell.

"Well, I had to get you up early because you always take forever!!!" He yells.

"Well, you're always late cause you get lost, so I don't normally rush when getting ready!!" I yell.

"Just hurry up Charmander and I are ready to go!!" He yells.

"Fine give me a minute." I say as I close the window and get ready.

I brush my teeth put on clothes and put a beanie on over my wild pastel pink hair. I walk out the house quietly trying not to wake my sister Sonia or my grandma. As I walk out, I see Leon sitting in a bench by the lake watching the sun rise.

"Are you ready?" I ask.

"I was born ready let's go." He says.

As we walk to Wedgehurst Leon asks me a question.

"Are you sure you don't want to compete in the gym challenge?" He asks.

"Yeah, you know competition like that isn't my thing." I say.

"Just because you aren't competing doesn't mean you aren't going to be my rival." He says.

I sigh.

"I know." I say with a laugh.

As we arrive in wedgehurst we get on the monorail and set course for Motostoke City. This whole journey thing is making me a bit nervous I'm just glad I have Leon to travel with. He can be annoying sometimes but he's my best friend.

"So Corym what Pokémon do you want to catch?" Leon asks as we wait to arrive at Motostoke.

"Well I'd like to catch an eevee. Maybe a houndour. A toxel could be cool. If I can find an Alolan vulpix that would be awesome. And last I want to find a febass." I say.

"Wow you've got your team all figured out huh." Leon says.

"Yeah they're my favorite pokemon." I say smiling.

"So what would you evolve the eevee into?" Leon asks.

"Well I was thinking I'd let the eevee decide what if evolves into." I say.

"That's cool." He says.

When we arrive in Motostoke, I lead the way to the stadium because I know Leon would never make it there by himself. As we walk in, I see so many trainers and I get really shy. I go stand off in the corner while Leon registers and I see him talk to a boy in an orange hat and they seem to be getting along pretty well.

"Hi..... I'm guessing you aren't a people person either?" A boy with black and white hair asks me.

"No not really..... I get super nervous around people. I'm Dusk by the way...." I say shyly.

"I'm Piers.... are you entering?" He asks me.

"Oh no..... I'm here with a friend.... I wouldn't do very well." I say.

"Well, I say you should do it. Doesn't matter how you think you'll do." Piers says.

"......" I think for a minute.

"Ok....." I say and I go register and give myself the number 22.

I look around and see Leon left so I go back to Pierce.

"I think my friend ditched me." I say.

"Well.... you could always hang with me." Piers says.

"I'd like that......." I say.

"Cool.... the opening ceremony starts soon so we should put our uniforms on." Piers says.

"Yeah." I say as I go out my uniform on.

"Your dratini is pretty cool." Pierce says.

"Thanks so is your zigzagoon." I say.

"What moves does it know?" Piers asks.

"Well I hatched it from an egg when I was 6. I knows Dragon Breath, Fire Spin, Water Pulse, and Dragon Dance." I say.

"Cool my zigzagoon knows tackle, leer, fake out, and bite." He says.

"That's cool." I say.

"So I was wondering...... would you want to be my rival?" He asks.

"Sure." I say.

"Cool." He says.

We do the opening ceremony and introduce the gym leader and everything.

"That was so terrifying." I say to Piers leaving the Motostoke stadium.

"It was fine. I'm gonna be getting large crowd like that one day when I perform my songs." Piers says.

"I'm positive you will Piers." I say.

As we walk out I see Leon and that boy from earlier running off towards Turffield.

"I guess I'll be doing this gym challenge alone." I say.

"You know... maybe you could travel with me." Piers says.

"Really....?" I ask.

"Yeah..." he says.

"Ok." I say.

As we walk to Turffield we see a Houndour.

"That's odd you don't normally find these Pokémon in Galar." I say curiously.

"It looks abandoned." Piers says.

"Hmmmm I have an idea." I say and pull out a poke ball.

"Hey little guy want to join me on my journey?" I ask softly.

The houndour slowly walks over and nods. I pet him and then press the Pokémon gently on his forehead and catch it.

"Sweet now I've got a houndour." I say.

"Turffield is up ahead." Piers says.

We walk to the town surrounded by fields and sees a big stadium in the middle. Looks like we're here.
