"So tell me about yourself" Newt said.
"There's not a lot to say." I told him. Even though that was a lie.
"Everyone always has a story." He told me.
"Well...." I started, and I told him most of everything I remembered except for one thing.
He leaned back against the wall "Wow" he said.
"What about you?" I asked him.
He looked around as if someone was gonna hear him. "Can we go outside and I'll tell you there?"
"Sure."
We went out the door and he led me to a back door. I expected to see a small yard with patches of grass, but I was way off. The yard was huge with a white fence surrounding it and rows of flowers and a run down swing-set, which ruined the look but it was awesome. I guess I looked shocked cause Newt laughed a little. He nodded his head to the way we were going. He led me to the left of the yard.He pushed back some of the fence. Right in front of us was a very small "house" made out of wood and covered with leaves and branches. Newt pushed back one of the branches and I saw there was a small window opening, big enough for one person, but still small. "This is how we'll get in." Newt told me and crawled through the window. And I went in after him. Luckily, I got through with no problem. I looked around the small house thing and saw a cardboard box in the right corner, a pillow and blanket in the left corner that looked similar to the ones in the orphanage. "What is this place?" I asked him.
"I like to go here sometimes to escape from this hell life I live." Newt said.
"Does anyone know about it?" I asked.
"As far as I know, nope." He replied. "So why do you trust me not to tell anyone about this?"
Even though I wasn't going to tell anyone, I was still wondering why he was bringing me here after he laughed at me my first day at the orphanage.Newt didn't reply to my question.
"So, let's here about you." I said. He sat down on the floor, so I sat across from him.
"When I was born." He started. "My mom was single. My dad wanted me to be aborted when she told him she was pregnant, but my mom wanted me. So after she told him she wasn't going to, he left her. On the day I was born, which was October 6th, my mom realized she couldn't take care of me alone. As much as she wanted me, she knew she couldn't do it on her own, so she sent me to this orphanage."
"So you've been here almost your whole life?" I asked him.
"Pretty much." He said.
Wow I thought.
"Hey, when's your birthday?" He asked
I slowly realized I had no idea what my birthday was.
"Um.. Well... I don't know.." I said awkwardly.
Newt looked like he was thinking and said "January 18th."
"What?" I said.
"That's the day you first got here. So why not make it your birthday?"
"Um, well okay." I replied.
I looked up and saw Newt staring at me, suddenly I realized how his eyes looked like he cares about you, how his hair was messy, yet perfect. What am I thinking? I thought coming back to reality. I looked away, embarrassed, as if Newt could have saw what I was thinking. An awkward few seconds passed by before Newt, thankfully, broke it by saying "We should go inside, I think it's about to be lunchtime."
I looked at him and nodded. And we went back inside.Hello! Thanks for reading this story! Sorry for not posting for a while :( but I'm gonna try and post more often now! And sorry this chapter was short!
