Lauren had returned to the land of the living as a ghost a little over two years ago, though she hadn't stayed long in L.A. After the death of her brother and father, her mom and Amelia had decided that staying in Los Angeles was too painful, choosing to relocate together in San Francisco. Lauren had followed behind them, preferring to stay with her family rather than to remain where everything was a painful reminder of what she'd lost.
It had been difficult for the girl to adjust to her new lifestyle. She'd been gone for what seemed to be a day but over twenty years had passed and everything had changed during that time. From technology to music to the lifestyles, it was all different. Yet, the biggest change for her was her family's dynamic.
Lauren was shocked but not surprised to find out that Lucas had married Amelia, though them having three kids did. Their oldest, Laura ( Lauren would never admit she cried to that though ) reminded her a lot of herself while the younger twins, Lucie and Jamie were like a carbon of Amelia and Lucas.
Lauren shook her head, snapping out of her daze and looked at Nathan James when he grabbed her shoulder to stop her and asked, "Dude, where are you going?"
"Sorry, just got lost by my thoughts." She answered, having gotten too distracted by the changes she'd experienced to pay attention to where she was going.
Nathan rolled his eyes, "When are you not." He continued walking, motioning for her to follow after him, "Now come on daydreamer, let's go."
Lauren huffed, but followed after him with a small smile. She'd quite literally ran into the James boy on one of her first few days in San Francisco and he'd taken her under his wing per say ( even though she was older ), teaching her everything about being a ghost since he had been one for a year longer than she had. Nathan had also made it his mission to teach her everything about the 21st century she'd missed.
"Ow!" Lauren yelped, rubbing her arm, "Why did you pinch me!?" She angrily narrowed her eyes on Nathan.
He took a step back, lifting his arms up as if he were surrendering, "Hey! I didn't!" Nathan defended himself.
Lauren went to say something, only to yelp again and rub her other arm, "Something pinched me again." She said with wide eyes, not blaming Nathan this time having clearly seen his hands in the air.
Nathen started to talk, "What the-"
The girl didn't hear him finish, feeling herself somehow poof out of the streets of San Francisco and land on something hard. She groaned in pain, feeling something boney poke into her stomach.
