The beginning of Amethyst's life was different even after being born, she had purple jewel like eyes that her mother claimed to be from her father's side. Her older half sister by ten years Tina from their dad's first marriage was jealous of her new sister because she had those unique beautiful eyes which started her resentment to her and barely wanted to do anything with her, as for there parents her father was an up coming business man that had plans to start his own company once he saved up enough money and their mother was a business women that made around the same amount as her husband, they weren't poor but they weren't rich either they where somewhere in between. Tina's jealously towards Amethyst grew when Amethyst's mother entered her in baby contests and won every single one of them and was even nominated most beautiful baby in the world and was offered numerous modeling offers for her doll like appearance, her mother didn't want to put her daughter in that type of spotlight and thought she was too young to model and turned down all the offers every time she took Amethyst out in public with Tina and her husband. When Amethyst turned five years old she became more beautiful and doll like and the modeling agents didn't stop bothering her parents and her sister had come to hate her completely, she even made it clear to Amethyst that she hated her and practically bullied her when no one was looking or either of there parents weren't around. Because of the way her sister treated her it lowered her self esteem and started to become sheltered barely leaving her room just to avoid Tina, her school life wasn't much better on the surface everyone was friendly with her but Amethyst could tell all her female classmates where jealous of her because of her beauty. It continued until she was twelve her father had saved enough to start up his own business and her sister had moved out at the age of eighteen and barely visits home along with still hating her little sister, her mother had died from a drunk driver the previous year. Amethyst barely had any friends and the ones she made where Asian and had introduced her to anime along with mostly and boys kept asking her out, one day while Amethyst's father was at a meeting she was staying at a hotel and decided to explore it a little. The second she stepped out the front door she accidentally bumped into a boy around her age, from the way he ran into her it looked like he was running from someone. Amethyst was a little worried about the boy, she imminently took his hand and led him inside the hotel with her and taking him into her hotel room.
"Thank a lot I owe you one." The boy said that to Amethyst when he was catching his breath, Amethyst could tell he had been out of the streets for days seeing how dirty his clothes where. When the boy had a good look at her he was a little speechless actually seeing a good look at her, he was surprised a little and barely blushed as she started questioning him
"So...what where you running from?" He came back to his senses a few seconds after she spoke and he answered her
"I...ah ran into some trouble. I had to get out of there fast." He then held out his hand to her as a greeting
"Ahh...I'm Jason. Jason Todd." Amethyst smiled and then shook his hand
"I'm Amethyst. Nice to meet you Jason." The two of them talked for a little while, Amethyst had some cash on her and offered to get Jason some new clothes that where a little newer than the ones he was wearing at a thrift store that was close to the hotel they where in. Amethyst made sure to stay close to Jason with putting her arm around his as she explained her history with modeling agents at a very young age that kept bothering her and her late mother after reserved the nomination for the most beautiful baby in the world and the agents and different modeling companies increased there efforts in getting Amethyst , she still had that problem when she was out with her father. Jason promised not to leave her side while he was out with her, he was also happy that she was so close to him. He believed her about about being hounded by modeling agents, he'd never seen eyes like her's before and she lived up to her name, Amethyst was the most beautiful girl Jason had ever seen. He could tell she was a kind person and he could tell that her social skills weren't really that good, she mostly kept quiet and didn't speak much unless she was spoken too.
"Hey Amethyst? Do you have social problems?" Jason as asked her that question when the two of them had entered the thrift store Amethyst was a little embarrassed by that and barely blushed as she answered him
"I told you about those modeling agents, I didn't like going out too much they wouldn't stop bothering me or my parents about signing me up for modeling. Actually me and my dad where stopped by a few when we got to Gotham, I'm afraid of bumping into one of them. The agents in your city are more persistent here than at home. They'll never leave me alone." Her saying that explained why she was so nervous being out and her being so close to Jason, as soon as Amethyst had paid for around fifty bucks of clothes for Jason one of the modeling agents had entered the store for the main purpose of Amethyst to sign a contract with that agents company. Just before the agent had came up to them Jason kicked him in his knee hard enough for him to take Amethyst's hand while running out of the shop, the second they both had reached the hotel Amethyst's father had shown up. Amethyst explain Jason was a friend and had saved her from another modeling agent, her father didn't like the way Jason looked mainly he noticed that his clothes where dirty and seeing the shopping bag in his daughter's hands.He decided to let it go in respect that he helped Amethyst, as for showing his thanks he offered Jason to take him to lunch with Amethyst and he gladly accepted. He did clean himself up and put on the clothes that was bought for him after leaving to go out to eat, Jason had made up a story about being poor and going out to eat was a rare thing.
"It's nice to see you with someone you know age Amethyst." Hearing that from her father Amethyst looked at him as Jason was sitting next to her while he question
"You don't have any friends?" Him saying that Amethyst signed before speaking
"I have a few Asian friends that are four years older than me that I met recently, other than that your the first friend that's the same age me." Before she continued her father interrupted her
"Not to mention being hunted down by those agents, you saw one of them. It's been like this most of her life." Jason was a little confused hearing that at first but Amethyst stepped in
"When I was a baby a lot of people asked me mom to enter me in contests, she thought she would give one a try just to see what would happen. Soon one turned around a hundred, I'm even in the genus world records for most won contests for babies and won the title for the most beautiful baby on the planet I still hold that title." After she said that Jason said to her
"That explains why they won't leave you alone." Before leaving the restaurant another agent had came up to Amethyst's father while Amethyst hid behind Jason holding holding one of his arms for safety. Amethyst told the agent that she wasn't interested in modeling even when the agent told them what company they where from or how much they offered, her father agreed with her and told them no as the three of them where leaving and walking back to the hotel. Amethyst didn't let go of Jason since she felt safe around him, just when they where around to reach the hotel a couple of men showed up and Jason recognized them and they recognized him. They noticed Amethyst's father at first and they where about to shout at him before that noticed Amethyst, they where speechless seeing her and as soon as Amethyst started to tear up and her jewel like eyes grow a little bigger there demeanor changed from threatening to more polite. They barely talked to her father for apologizing to him in saying that made a mistake and said Jason looked like the kid they where looking for and walked off, Jason couldn't believed what had happened he looked back at Amethyst that was drying her eyes and she smiled at Jason.
"One of my friends taught me that, it works really well with me."
