(Yang)

My alarm wakes me, and I look at the clock on my phone. It's five-thirty in the morning. I slowly pull off my covers and silently get out of bed. I had some homework to do before school started.
I don't understand how Yin can hers done so fast. Her grade average is a B though, while mine is an A. Last year, hers used to be a C, but ever since she had that conversation, she feels more motivated to do better in school. I feel like I'm falling behind now in sisterhood succession.
I had three pieces of homework to do, and they were all relatively easy. Our math, science, and reading teachers gave out the most homework, and nearly every day I had to wake up early to finish their subjects' grueling work.
After I got all of my work done, I got out of my pajamas, and started to slowly step down the stairs. Then I realized, once again, that I have powers that can help me with everyday things, just as long as no is around to see me.
I'm usually the earliest to wake up and go downstairs, so I don't have a problem with getting exposed. I climbed up and I jumped off the side of the rails and used my feather gravity to slow my fall, and I landed on the ground so softly that I could barely feel the ground.
I take some premade batter that I made on Friday from the fridge, and mend it into a small circle with steep sides. Next, I grab the jar of my homemade marinara sauce and pour it into the middle of the dough. I like to add more than necessary just because of how tasty the sauce is.     Then I take some shredded cheese and sprinkle it all over the top. Lastly, I grab a microwaveable container and put the mini homemade pizza into the container.
Then I grab an Icyy and put everything into my lunchbox, and into my bag. David comes downstairs as I finish my lunch, and I put a frozen waffle into the microwave for breakfast.
While my waffle is cooking and Yin is waiting for mine to get done, I grab my laptop and earbuds from my room. Before I left, I noticed that something strange was next to my lamp.
It's this little white pentagonal case, with a black dot in the middle. I pick it up, and I open it, to find a little necklace inside of it. It has a clear gem, probably quartz, and some string holding it together.
Who did it belong to? Why was it on my nightstand? Maybe David, Garrett, or Yin gave it to me.
I take it anyways and go downstairs to eat my waffle. While David was cleaning up, I asked him "Did you give this to me?"
"No, I didn't. Where did you get that from?" He questions me as he grabs his coffee and takes a sip.
"It came from my room. It wasn't there last night, and it just suddenly appeared on my nightstand this morning." I reply.
The rest of the day went as usual. I didn't take the necklace out of the case just yet, but I carried it in my backpack for the whole day.
Once it was nearly time for bed, I finally decided that no one would stand up to me and take it. I didn't show anyone, just in case it had something to do with my powers. Only David knew that it was here, rather than, but he doesn't know who it belongs to.
While brushing my teeth, I could hear the light rain gently tapping on the surface of the roof. I was staring at the case. What did it mean? Why was it on my nightstand? Why did it represent... My name? My name was Yang, and it looks like the Yang symbol, so it must have to do with me.
Maybe it was given by my true parents. They were the ones who named me after all, and my dads didn't want to change the name because they thought it was also perfect for us.
I cautiously took it out of it's case. It was beautiful from the way it shone, the multiple colors that came out of the prism made it so amazing to look at.
I grip both sides of the necklace, and I pull it over my head. I pulled my hair back so the string isn't visible from the back of my head.
I'm immediately forced to the floor, my head pounding. I can barely think, I can't see. I hear a weird noise, and then everything stops. As soon as I relocated myself, I threw off the necklace.
I rubbed the back of my neck, as it felt like it was burning, and I looked at the gem that was on the other side of the bathroom. I was just sitting there on the floor for a few moments, puzzled.
If it came from my true parents or someone who knows me, and they must not want anything to do with me. Or is trying to kill me.
I should have been able to have predicted what was going to happen before it occurred. I was just too amazed at it.
I had gained the ability to predict a few days ago. My prediction works like a big river. It splits into smaller rivers, to streams, and then to ponds. My prediction isn't always correct. There is only a chance that it is correct. I can see the other option, but the clearest one is what would most likely happen.
I attempt to fly, since I got that power less than a few weeks ago, but it doesn't work. I try again, and nothing happens. Then, I manually get up from the floor.
Why can't I fly? Maybe it's just because it doesn't work in confined spaces. I turn on the faucet, and try to bend the water coming out of the faucet with my hands, but that doesn't work either.
Maybe it's just because of the weather, it's raining out so maybe it has an effect on it. I try predicting what will happen next to my power, but nothing appears because my prediction isn't working.
Why weren't any of my powers working? Then I realise something. I don't feel strong. It feels like I can't see. It feels like something has left me.
I turn around and look at the gem. What has it done to me? I squat down and inspect it closer, not wanting to touch it after what it did to me the first time. I notice that the color has changed to not clear, but to white.
Did that thing just suck up my powers? Why did it do that? I really wasn't using my powers anyway though. I just feel weaker, and more limp.
I decided to pick the gem up again, and cautiously wore it this time. No more harm could be done if I had no more power inside of me. I'll keep it on so I could find a way to eventually get my powers back. I liked my powers.
Later that day, I was focused on getting some of my homework done early tonight, and it was dark in our bedroom. I sit at the desk in our room and I twist the knob for the study lamp to turn on.
The lamp refuses to turn on, so I twist the knob the other way. It doesn't light up. "Lamp, turn on!" I quietly demand. I keep twisting it both ways, and I check the outlet. It was plugged in. "Activate, Light!" I softly yell.
There was a white flash. My whole body was transformed as I felt my power come crashing back to my body. When I was able to see again, I didn't know what to do.
I look at my hands, and I notice immediately that my skin tone was much paler. I walked over to the mirror in my room, and I took a view of myself.
I was speechless. I had multiple bands of fabric tired around me in a simple but droppingly fashion. I also had a cape.
My hair was a few shades lighter, along with my skin color. My hair was also far longer and was in one big divided ponytail like the Disney princess Jasmine. The gem was now present on my left wrist, on a gold band. The gem was also now clear.
At first, I didn't even recognize myself. It's like some protection that disguises who I truly am.
I stood in amazement, shock, and worry. Yes, it was cool and all, but I needed to get out of this as soon as I could! My powers would only work if I looked like this though, so this must be important.
I said light activated and I was transformed, so I should probably say deactivate this time to detransform. "Light, deactivate." I softly say, and close my eyes this time so I don't get blinded.
I feel the power sucked from me, and when I look back in the mirror, I have returned to normal. The same outfit, the same colors, same everything.
Why would I need this outfit? Is something... bad going to happen? I guess that it's nice that my powers don't activate on instinct anymore and I don't have to only be known for that.
