"Excuse me?" I asked, watching as my wife and Mark sat in front of me, both smiling shy smiles as I stood in front of them, eyes nearly popping out of my skull.

"We couldn't get the reservations you asked for" Meredith repeats slowly, gently, as to not anger me. "Not even the back-up ones; we checked everywhere. We couldn't find a reservation for four at any of them for dinner" she explains thoroughly, while Mark nods beside her.

"Yeah, and we didn't want to pick a different restaurant because we knew you probably wouldn't have as much fun if it wasn't one you really really wanted to try" Mark is trying to reason, but there is no way his reasoning made any sense in this situation.

"So you bought four tickets to see a drag show tomorrow night instead?" I'd exclaimed, surprised at their choice for date night.

Once every couple of weeks, the four of us (myself, Meredith, Mark and Derek) went out for dinner as a double date. Arizona and Amelia usually watched the girls (we watched Averie every other Saturday for them, so it worked out) so we could spend some time chatting and doing adult things.

Baby talk and sticky fingers was something no person could handle without a break every so often.

"It's not just a drag show" Mark said, seemingly offended that I wasn't excited. "It's the drag show of the century"

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't against drag; if anything, I thought it was an art, but I'd never been to one. Not only that, but I knew they'd be loud and bright; I just wanted to spend one night quietly sitting and eating without screaming or yelling in the background. That didn't seem like too much to ask.

"It's going to be loud, and we'll probably be out later than if we did dinner" I tried to reason with them, but I knew without even asking that I'd already lost.

"Just this one time, Addie?" Meredith asks so sweetly, butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. "We always do dinner. Let's try something fun! We won't have the time or the energy once these babies make their grand entrance"

I sighed, but nonetheless I nodded in agreement.

"You're lucky you're cute, Grey" I mumbled, still butt hurt about being caught off guard and ambushed with tickets to a club instead of reservations to a restaurant.

"That's Montgomery-Grey to you"

"Ames, I am going to go crazy" later on that day, Amelia and I were sitting in her living room while Sutton and Averie both napped; I had the day off from work, so while Riley was in school I'd brought Sutton over to spend the day with Averie.

"Because they're ganging up on you?" Amelia snorts, reaching her hand into the bag of skinny pop she had rested on her knee. "You should've known Mark would make friends with her; everyone likes Mark" I knew she wasn't wrong, but to be fair I hadn't expected Mark and Meredith to hate each other.

"I don't want to spend the night in a loud and crowded club. I'm too old for all that" I sigh, flopping back dramatically onto the couch. "I want to sit in peace and quiet for once, because my children scream so much and I love them but fuck why do they have to be so loud?" At eight and three, Riley and Sutton were a lot harder to manage than when they were both younger, less mobile and less vocal.

"And to think Arizona wants to have another baby" Amelia says casually, shaking her head as she plops more popcorn in her mouth and chews disapprovingly.

"Arizona wants another?" I asked her, surprised. This was the first I'd heard of this. As far as I'd always known, both Amelia and Arizona had decided one child was enough for them. One and done, their motto.
