"Sophia, you need to get up!" I nudged the blonde, who was sprawled out on her bed. Most of my mornings started like this. Sophia doesn't like waking up before noon, so it's usually my responsibility to wake her up.
"Leave me alone!" She mumbled into her pillow.
"Are you coming to the coffee shop to meet stalker boy with me or not?"
Her head shot up when I finished my sentence, and hurried to get dressed. I waited for her in the living room, growing more anxious as the clock approached 11:00am.
Sophia finished getting dressed ten minutes to eleven, and we basically ran to the coffee shop. As we walked into the coffee shop, I noticed the boy with the messy hair sitting at a table by the window.
I walked over to him and pulled his earbuds from his ears. "What do you want from me?" I questioned. Sophia and I sat down across from him, and be all remained silent for a few minutes.
"Holland, I thought we talked about using your manners and saying 'hello' before you start questioning people?" He raised an eyebrow.
"We have talked about it, I just chose to ignore you." I rolled my eyes. Sophia could obviously feel the tension between us, and got up to get some coffee for us. She offered to get him some but he politely turned her down, and to be honest, it shocked me. I didn't know he was capable of ever being polite.
"I'm guessing you want to know why we're in a coffee shop and not on the roof?" He asked as soon as Sophia was out of earshot.
"Actually, I like the coffee shop better than the roof. It's public, so the chance of you trying to kill me has decreased drastically."
"Your very sassy today, Miss Holland Rose," he said looking out the window, "but I kind of like it."
"Are you seriously trying to flirt with me now?" I raised an eyebrow, disgusted by him.
"Don't flatter yourself." He rolled his eyes. Sophia returned to the table with two cups of coffee, and I silently thanked her. I don't think I could've been alone with him for another second.
"So, why am I here?" I asked, hoping to get this over with soon.
"The same reason we meet on the roof; because you have so many questions." He looking at Sophia and I before looking down at his phone for a second.
"Okay then." I sat up in my chair, ready to ask him all the questions that have been running through my mind since last night. " Have we ever met?"
"Well considering we're sitting here now I would assume we've met before." he smirked.
"I mean before the elevator." I rolled my eyes, something that I had been doing a lot since I've met him.
"Yes, Holland Rose, we have met before the elevator." he answered me, amused by my annoyance.
"When?"
"A very long time ago."
"And you still remember it?" I leaned forward, half intrigued by his memory and half intrigued by his eyes. As much as I wanted to hate him, I just couldn't bring myself to it. Something about him seems so familiar, like I had once trusted him in another life.
"Who could ever forget meeting you, Holland Rose?" He answered me with another question.
"Was that another one of your attempts to flirt with me? You know what, forget I asked that. Anyway, where did we meet?"
"You'll have to figure that out for yourself, Holland." He smiled, standing from his chair.
"Where are you going?" I questioned, part of me not wanting him to leave.
"You're so inquisitive, but I love it. I'll see you on the roof tonight, Holland. And goodbye, Sophia." he said, giving us a small wave and leaving the coffee shop.
"He's hot." Sophia simply said, taking a sip of her coffee.
"What the hell, Sophia?"
"Calm down, I'm just trying to lighten the mood." She laughed, even though I couldn't see what was so funny.
"No matter how attractive you claim he is, that doesn't excuse him from being a stalker." I stated, then walking to the counter to get another drink. I had a short conversation with Calum while I waited, and he seemed pretty interested in my conversation with his friend. Of course he didn't tell me his name, but his stalker of a friend probably told him not to.
Sophia and I left after I got my drink and headed back to our apartment. She kept asking me where I had met him, and my answer still remained uncertain.
As I opened our apartment door, I immediately went to my bedroom, part of me hopping there was a note waiting for me.
Like always, there it was, folded neatly on my bed, with my name written on the front.
Holland,
When are you going to give up? I know you hate playing this game with me but your emotions must keep pulling you back in. Don't forget to meet me on the roof tonight.
