The light that shines in your eyes
Is like a star in the dark skies
This is all so new to me
But I guess I should get ready
We have been together for ages
But it seems we have nothing to write on our pages
What if we are old and suddenly useless
What more if beauty, we no longer possess?
Yet it is clear no one could suffice
That this could be our one and only paradise

All things beautiful, loud, and clear
All so beautiful below the chandelier
You were dancing as graceful as can be
And I saw you, staring right at me
With your bright, adoring eyes, so young and green
I stared back, knowing that sheen
What really happened is love, as clearly foreseen
Denied, except for one that hid goodbyes
And this is our beautiful and perfect paradise

This is our perfect destiny
When you and I can see directly
We have looked into each other
So adoring, it could last forever
We have been drawn together
That we may last longer
And this is fate
That our love will never turn to hate
Never thought of anything that could lead to demise
This is out chance to build our paradise

You were there, dressed and elegant
All your jewelry is not meager nor scant
And your hair was pulled up your head
Your smile is everything, none said
You were a symbol of perfection
All men wanted to be your protection
Lovers would want your salvation
And I was the lucky on in the communion
We could be like this until forever dies
We could have built our perfect paradise

One would be lucky to win your heart
As all men did anything, even fall apart
What is it that made you start
This bent lifestyle, what would impart?
But one would be blessed if he has your love
That heavenly beauty, sent from above
You are beauty and the epitome
And I was the lowliest of the three
Wealth, power, beauty; I had none otherwise
But you took me in and made my life paradise

But this is it; this is the transition
Where promises die and nothing is of completion
When love finishes its horrifying transformation
Where companionship is no longer a satisfaction
You were the beauty I admired
But now, your taste have soured
What did I do to deserve you
What did you do to change my view?
And this is it; where one will not be nice
Crumbling, weakening—that is our paradise

All things terrible, silent, and dim
All so dark, night it would seem
We wished; I wished this was a dream
But we were trapped inside fate's scheme
Love, love, love—is this all we have?
I can't expect it to heal wounds like a salve
Love, it makes one act like a fool
Makes you crumble to pieces from a whole
What makes you think you can hide the dice
And watch me fall apart inside our paradise?

This is our disastrous destiny
When all is lost, bound to eternity
What could we give to appease the gods
We have nothing against all odds
But this is just right
For someone like me who've lost the fight
What else could be taken
Wealth, love, power—I've not been given
What chance do I have to win the prize
As if it was nothing, like our paradise

Times have changed
I saw one that seems strange
This pain that once tore me to the bone
Now made my heart hard as stone
Still, I pray that you never left
To never have acted the theft
I hoped that you have loved me
Well enough that I should be happy
That I should be glad to pay the price
Of building our perfect yet sad paradise

Times have changedI saw one that seems strangeThis pain that once tore me to the boneNow made my heart hard as stoneStill, I pray that you never leftTo never have acted the theftI hoped that you have loved meWell enough that I should be happyThat ...

I love this poem so much. That's the only thing I can say about it.

Granted, I don't know what it means but I love how it made me all messed up with emotions deep inside, especially that last line. Owo.

This poem is also a hundred lines long, divided into ten stanzas with ten lines each. One of the longest I've written, honestly.

And is it bad that I based the setting of this poem on Katy Perry's Unconditionally music video?

What do you think? Comment below. :)
