"Cazzo"
I knew this would happen. How I wish i could turn the clock back but the damage has already been done.
I was in my office sorting out some blue prints on a project when I had a call ;
*Flashback*
*Beep, beep,beep*
I picked up my phone to see my friend and business partner Juan Fernandez calling me. He is like the brother figure in my life and I respected him a lot.
"Hello! brother" ,I said into the receiver.
"Am I speaking with Antonio?" said the person on the other end and I knew something must have gone wrong since that was not Juan's voice I heard but that of another man ,I just hope that this is not a figlio di puttana, (son of a bitch) messing with me .
"Yes, and why are you calling me from a cell phone which is definitely not yours" I replied rudely
"Sorry , sir but your brother and his wife have been involved in a hit and run. And this contact was saved under emergency and being the officer assigned to the case I called to inform you about it" the man who is definitely a police officer answered .
"Where are you?" I say as i grabbed my car keys and dashed out of my office ignoring my secretary who was glancing at me in a flirtatious manner.The officer told me since the accident occurred in the same street as Juan lived they took their bodies to their home in wait of an ambulance. I had to reach there faster before Anneliese does so that the bodies would be in the mortuary by the time she gets home . I don't want her to go through the trauma of seeing the lifeless bodies of her parents .
By the time we could carry the bodies out of the house Anne walked in . She stood at the door taking in the scene in front of her. I didn't even realized that I zoned out un till i saw her fall onto the floor .
* End of flashback *
I scooped her into my arms and rushed up the stairs towards her room with her friend trailing behind us still in a daze from what happened earlier . I could see how worried he was about her friend . I placed her under the covers and sat by her holding he hand tightly. I asked her friend to go home earlier because I wanted to be the only one she saw when she wakes up .
"Amore mio, ( My love ), please wake up .I promise everything will be alright. I will do anything to ease your pain .I will take care of you" .
My throat was patched so I went downstairs to grab some water since there was none in the fridge in her room . I walked back to Anneliese's when I was done .I had a shock when I opened the door , I didn't know whether to laugh or be worried. Definitely not the former .
