BAKUGOU KATSUKI ISN'T AN OPTIMIST

BAKUGOU KATSUKI ISN'T AN OPTIMIST. This is merely just a fact. Bakugou is not one to see the light in any situation; to see a way out. He isn't like Midoriya Izuku, who had aced every exam on mental health and how to comfort others. He isn't like the younger, who used to smile so brightly that the world would turn on its axis, even when things weren't looking too well. Rather, Bakugou scowled in the face of danger and used to yell when he didn't get his way.

With these facts combined, his brain couldn't process how the actual fuck All Might, the current number one hero, Symbol of Peace, would want someone like him to be his successor?

It seems almost impossible; it's like the world was spitting fire on his face and laughing. There's no way, with all he's done in his life, that the universe would give him this opportunity.

"You don't have to answer now of course. I know it's quite a hefty decision. But just think on it, okay?" All Might had told him.

It's been two days since All Might had offered One for All to him. The atmosphere had grown quiet once All Might told him he didn't have to make the decision at that moment. Bakugou quickly excused himself because what the fuck what the fuck what the fu-?

Fuck, his brain is still reeling just thinking about it. And it's all he's been thinking about, damn it. His head feels like it's going to explode if he stays crammed up in his room any longer.

Despite it being the middle of the night, Bakugou jumps out of bed and throws on a jacket. He climbs out of his open window, the cold air nipping at his exposed skin. He tugs the hood on his jacket up once he reaches the ground. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, he begins his walk.

It took him longer than usual, only by five minutes, but he still feels his body relax as he nears the empty beach. The moonlight cascades onto the ripples of the ocean, sparkling and practically begging for attention. The waves lick the shore, before retreating back inside it's mouth. The air smells of salt and seaweed; a scent that he's become quite familiar with over the past couple of months. Bakugou watches as the horizon climbs up the night sky, which blankets over the town a veil of darkness.

"Bakugou?" A voice speaks from behind him.

The ash-blond turns around, coming face to face with Aizawa, who's still wrapped head to toe in bandages. Why he's here? Bakugou has no clue, but he nods his head in acknowledgment either way.

"What are you doing here, kid? Couldn't sleep?" His teacher asks, voice rough.

Katsuki shrugs.

Aizawa takes the silence in stride, sitting down on the bench that they stood in front of. Katsuki follows suit, and the wood feels cool beneath him.

"All Might asked you, didn't he?"

The question makes Bakugou still, his fingers no longer fidgeting with his jacket zipper. He bit his lip nervously. He shouldn't be so shocked that Aizawa knew, he was All Might's coworker after all. But still, it throws him off guard.
