A/N: The character of Plern always fascinated me. A strong female lead but twisted. I liked the fact, in the novels, there was the idea of an arranged marriage. I didn't like the way the dating of Knock made it twisted. So I came up with a more realistic twist for revenge. Plern's character is just plain nasty, built on years of selfishness and lies.

Unable to separate the lies she's told herself through the years from the ones she's telling others, Plern has to navigate through the minefield she laid in order to find her way out of the mess she created completely. A strong, independent woman would have no problem, but is she really that way or is it a façade ready to crumble? Have Korn and Knock, in the short time they've been together built something solid enough to withstand her evilness? Can the gang defeat her before she causes trouble and bullies them?

I keep going back to certain characters or people because I can see deeper developments. Some are just too shallow, surface thoughts or rushed. Who captures your heart or imagination?

Plern snarled silently to herself watching Korn flirt with Knock. Korn was to BE her husband, but he was more interested in Knock than in her. Fucking impossible! She had everything going for her... beauty, brains and body! This meant war!

Oh, Korn had no idea how sneaky women were... when a woman wanted her man, nothing would stop them. Plern would lay no plans for Korn anymore, but Tul was the goal. If she took Knock from Korn that would prove who was sexiest!

Plern laughed silently to herself as she walked away. There was nothing better in life than a challenge, and challenging oneself to accomplish a hidden goal was the best. Unless... the the old adage of "be careful of what you wish for" came true!

At this time in her life, the last thing she needed was to be saddled with a clingy man like Knock, no matter how handsome he may be! Plern stopped in front of the mirror and primped, checking her makeup carefully. Yes, it was flawless as always. Smoothing her features into a more lady like manner, she took a deep breath and waded out into the battlefield.

"Korn, darling!" She simpered, groaning internally. She hated putting on these silly girly airs. "Who's your friend?" She sat down next to Korn, letting her short, tight skirt ride up her thighs and deliberately crossed her legs. Ah, yess! She didn't read Knock wrong at all! Knock's eyes widened appreciatively at the show Plern put on.

"Plern, Knock and so on." Korn said, removing Plern's hand from his thigh. "Plern's the daughter of my mom's friend." He quickly explained, shooting her a glaring look.

Plern simply shrugged, trying to maintain the sweetest look in her repertoire. Turning to look directly at Knock, she gave him a huge smile, showing as many teeth as possible. "Have you known Korn a long time, Knock? She kept her head turned enough so Korn couldn't see her wide eyes and rapidly fluttery eyelids.

Knock simply shrugged and Korn snorted. "Plern, why the sudden interest in my life? We've been acquaintances for over 10 years now and you've never once asked about any of my friends before." Korn stood up and walked behind Knock. "I told you last week. I will not get involved with you. On the weekend we're going home and telling our parents the engagement is off."

Korn pulled Knock to a standing position and left Plern simmering in anger. She wanted to stamp her feet but she didn't. Korn would pay. And the way Knock kept looking back over his shoulder, it looked like the way she was doing it, was the right way to do it!

"Toxic bitch." Korn muttered to Knock as they walked away. Knock thought Plern was very beautiful. What did he mean she was a bitch? How could such a pretty girl be that bad? Knock looked back and only saw a sad, lonely girl sitting alone on at the table.

Knock only nodded and said, "If you say so, Korn. I can't because I don't know her."

Korn stopped in his tracks and twisted Knock to look at him. "Knock, promise me you won't have anything to do with Plern. She's evil, I'm telling you, she's just bad news." Korn looked so earnest and pleading, Knock leaned forward and dropped a light kiss on his nose and said, "I promise, if it makes you feel better."

Korn pulled Knock in for a brief hug. "Oh god, you have no idea how much better I do." Come on, let's finish the project back in my room."

Knock was laughing now. "Really? Are we working on the project or are we doing something else?" He felt the Korn's fingers tickle his hand and he started laughing harder. Trying to pull his hand free, "Stop that!"

"Nope, you're mine, Knock Baby, always will be!" Korn said, sweetly. "Let's go!" Laughing the two young men walked hand in hand to Korn's condo.

Plern had watched with amusement the interaction between the two men. Knock was the weaker link, she could feel it in her bones. She also knew he was attracted to both sexes, but was he more attracted to men or women? That, Plern did not know. If she had to be totally honest, Korn was probably more sexier than her but she had more beauty that he did.

So it was an even playing field. That's why Plern needed all the dirty tricks in the book. It was time for step 1: Call out your friends to help you. Not that Plern did something so passé as friends. No, she had underlings that worked on a exchange of favours.

It was time to set one of them up to spying on every movement that the two men did and report back to her. Plern following them for the next 24 hours would be very noticeable, but she needed a broader base of information. There was this one girl who lived in the same complex as Korn. And boy, did she make the perfect spy...

Plern made the arrangements and then went to work on her business. It was a scam, really, but it was paying her way through university. She bought discount cosmetics and up scaled them by rebranding. She sold them for 10 times what she paid and in the past four months, sales were skyrocketing.

Knowing she had to be careful not to get caught, Plern did all the work herself. Her grades were now beginning to suffer slightly but it was either less money or make her products more exclusive. Either choice scared her. She definitely couldn't hire any staff until she graduated and actually could formulate a new product herself.

Plern simply shrugged and forgot about the logistics and got to work. Money first then her man. No one had ever accused her of not being goal orientated before.
