Korn sat in the bar surrounded with empty shot glasses. On one side, sat Farm. On the other side was Yihwa. Across the table was Fai. Occasionally, strangers would stop by and give Korn free drinks as word had spread in the bar. Korn was here to drink Knock from his heart.
Farm, Yihwa and Fai were being "good friends" and urging Korn to slow down, stop drinking and generally trying to interfere with his drinking pace. If anyone would have been paying close attention, they would have seen a bucket under his chair, which was slowly filling with most of his booze.
Korn was drinking one out four shots. Yihwa was still worried that it was too much alcohol, Korn tried to send her a message that he was fine, he could really hold his alcohol. These baby drinks were nothing.
He sighed and dipped his head like he was feeling the booze. 10 minutes to go until Knock showed up. He had gone to the temple and prayed with all his might this worked. Knock deserved peace.
"Ouch!" He bent down and rubbed his shin. "What the fuck?" He lifted his head the way a drunk would, and saw his sister. Fuck my life, why is she here... oh. Right. Phu. "What do you want?"
He picked up a shot glass and drank it.
Kavitra sank down into a seat next to Fai and nodded to everyone. "I was told you'd talk to me if I came tonight."
Korn snorted. "Told wrong. Tonight's about getting drunk enough to forget that coward Knock. He ran away. Believed all the lies and rumours on a fake website." He picked up another shot glass and covering the drink, pretended to shoot it back. It went into the bucket behind his chair. He laughed, thinking about the wasted money.
Kavitra sighed and slumped in her chair. She ran her hand across her eyes. "You really believe that."
"Yeah, you asshole, you really believe that?" Knock interrupted, hurt and anger evident in both his stance and voice. "What did I ever see in you?"
Phubet stood in the background shadows and watched. He wanted to grab Kavitra and take her to a car and kiss her silly but this show, she needed to see to understand.
Korn rose unsteadily to his feet. "You? What did I see in you? You left at the first hint of trouble. You wouldn't even answer my calls."
"It's called taking time to think! Asshole!" Knock screamed. The whole bar was staring at their corner table. "It was you who wouldn't answer my calls when I called you."
"Three fucking days too late! You broke my damn heart! You were all I had left. YOU knew my family disowned me because of you, you knew that you were all I had left. YOU knew that those pictures were fake and YOU cut me off for three days." Korn's voice broke and he had tears in his eyes.
"That was all you. You did that."
"My, my, my..." Plern started to clap. "You should have taken Communications, Korn. That was truly moving."
Korn sunk back down to his seat. "Get lost, Plern." He picked up another drink and pretended to shoot it. "I've got a long way to go before I can forget everything."
"I'm not going anywhere, Korn." Plern settled herself neatly next to Kavitra and gave her a polite nod. "Have a seat, Prae. I believe you know everyone better than I do, since you're dating Farm." She waved for the waiter and asked for a drink. "I think we can be at least polite with each other, don't you?"
Kavitra had been silent. "Korn, who is this?"
"Ah, I had forgotten, Kav. Since we're being polite, Plern, Kavitra, Kavitra Plern." Korn, still pretending to be drunk, waved his hands violently. Knock who knew this was not how Korn was, held back his laughter. "Kav, this is my ex-fiancé and the person who got me expelled from my family."
Kavitra stood up and slapped Plern. The whole table gasped, while Korn broke out in laughter.
Plern held her cheek and stared at Kavitra. "You bitch! How dare you!" She stood up with her fists clenched, ready to fight.
"Girl, I wouldn't." Kavitra lowered her voice. "Well, maybe I would if I was you, but I wouldn't if you want to graduate. In case you aren't aware, I'm Korn's sister. I HAVE the right to do that since you fucked up my life, not just my brother's."
Plern sat down, rubbing her cheek. Fuck, she didn't know that Korn had a sister. She would have done things a bit differently if she knew. Women had to be handled delicately. Fuck, she definitely, fucked up. "I, ah...
Prae interrupted, "Plern, look!"
On the screen where they usually show the announcements or karaoke lyrics, there was a video playing. It starred Plern. In the right hand corner, was a small screen with a Live feed, also starring Plern.
Currently it showed Plern's shocked face.
The main screen showed Plern's messy apartment, filled with boxes, and her in her old, torn clothes and bare face. In the Live feed, Plern's mouth dropped open. It sunk in that she'd been hacked. Her eyes narrowed and she swivelled and stared at the group of people in front of her. Eight people watching her with Yihwa holding her phone, recording everything.
Fai smiled, "How does it feel, Plern? Knowing that all your dirty secrets are on display? That it really wasn't that hard to find out who started that website? To send copies to the police of who paid the driver of who hit Farm? You kept all of it neatly logged on your computer. You're smart but not that smart."
Kavitra was beginning to realize what was going on. "You mean those pictures on that website were all done because of this girl? Not only did she tell Mom and Dad, she created that website as well?"
Plern glared at Kavitra, "Korn is mine. My parents promised me that he would be my husband. If he won't marry me, then he won't be with anyone! I'll keep ruining every relationship he ever gets into!" She spit fury as more and more people from the bar realized this was happening here!
Prae stood in front of Plern and spoke, not just for Plern but for the camera. "I'm done with you. I'm done doing your dirty work. I went to the university and told them the truth. I'm on probation but I feel good. I also gave the list of blackmailed people from the past two envelopes, Plern. You won't have any more money coming in."
"You, You... BITCH!" Plern screamed. "You think you petty people can stop me? You can't! I'm smarter than all of you!"
The tiny body of Prae for once was solid and not trembling as Plern screamed at her. "I'm not scared of you any longer. You're right. I can't do anything. They can." Prae stepped aside and the two officers who interviewed her in the hospital after Farm was hit stepped forward.
"Miss, we need you to come with us." The older one, said firmly. Plern's eyes were wild, looking for an escape route, any escape. She had burnt all her bridges on her last visit home. Who would help her now?
