It was a breezy Saturday afternoon and a million thoughts rushed through my head. One of them being the fact that I was two days away from starting school at Hogwarts, and leaving my mother behind for the year. I was so nervous to be going into fifth year, seeing as I was transferring from Beaubaxtons. I loved going to Beaubaxtons, but, my mom and I moved and Hogwarts happened to be closer.

That day I was in Diagon Alley walking around the stores and cramming to get all my school supplies. Apparantly I hadn't been the only one last minute shopping; the stores were packed and full of students and their parents excitedly picking out their wands and textbooks. Thankfully all I had to get was my books, and then I could be out of there. As I was backing up to go pay for everything, I bumped into a short ginger haired girl, knocking her to the ground and causing her to groan in pain.

"I am so so sorry" I exclaimed, bending down and offering my hand to the girl. "It's okay," she said laughing a litte "I've gotten used to it since I've got brothers back home." We both laughed and she gave me a warm smile witch I returned. "I'm Ginny Weasly by the way" she announced while sticking her hand out waiting for me to shake it. "I- I'm Katie Young, I'm transferring to Hogwarts this year," Ginny gave a soft smile and then looked at me as if I had three eyes. "Makes sense why I didn't notice you before" she said while lowering her raised eyebrows.

Confused I asked her "do you go to Hogwarts?" " Yeah I am going into my fourth year, and my brother Ron is going into his fifth," she explained as she pointed over to her brother. "oh cool, I'm going into my fifth year as well." Ginny paused for a moment and waved Ron over to us. "Hey Ginny, whats up?" said a taller boy with just as red fiary hair as Ginny's. "Katie, meet my brother Ron," Ginny paused for a moment looking back at her brother "Katie is also going into fifth year." "Hey," Ron looked over at me while the corner of his lips curved up. I stood their like a dumbass and just waved to him nervously.

I wasn't the easiest person to have a conversation with, but for some reason It was easy to talk to Ginny, and it was nice to know I had made a friend. "Um- Katie I have to go now, but maybe you would want to sit on the train with me and my friends?" I shook my head at Ginny, implying that I wanted to sit with her,and she walked away. It was nice knowing I would have people to sit wth on the train and I wouldn't look like a complete loser.

Two days later, after being in Diagon Alley I was on my way to the King Cross train station where I would leave for Hogwars. My hands were shaking and I had an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach, as I normally do when I'm nervous. When we got to the station my mom turned off our muggle car, and shifted her legs so she was facing me. "Are you going to be okay" she whined, "do you have everything you need?" I looked my mom in the eyes and lied to her saying, "I-I um I'm fine mom. I am sure I will love Hogwarts just as much as I did my last school."

She nodded at me suprisingly and started to get out the car, walking around the back to grab my trunk. A look of cunfusion came to my face as I couldn't believe my mom didn't realize I was lying to her. I mean it was pretty obvious with the studdering and my shaking hands and all, but I guess that was the new normal. My mom had been very distant ever since me moved, so I was sort of used to her not noticing things that were obvious. Either way I grabbed my trunk from her and said my goodbyes. We hugged for what felt like 2 seconds and then she pulled away, and kissed my forehead.

I waved at her goodbye and made my way inside to platfrom 9 3/4. when I got there it was filled with a crowd of parents and students hugging eachother and saying goodbye. For a moment I stood there looking through the crowd anxiously until I spotted the fiary red haired girl I was looking. "Ginny" I shouted at her, as she was going to put her trunk away. She turned around and ran up to me, "hey, how are ya" she exclaimed with a pep in her step. "I'm great" I told her even though I wasn't. "Are you ready to get on the train?" "Yeah, follow me."

I followed behind Ginney up the stairs of the train while she searched for the compartment with her friends. As soon as she found it she swung open the door and squealed. After Ginny gave all her friends hugs she looked around and started introducing me to people. " Everyone this is Katie, she's a fifth year and transferring to hogwarts from Beaubaxtons." All her friends looked at me with a smile and a simple wave. "Katie that's Harry Potter, Hermoine Granger, and of course Ron, who you met the other day," she told me while pointing to each person. I waved to them all and took a seat beside Ginny, "so Katie, what house to you think you'll get into," Hermoine asked me. With hesitation not knowing what houses they are in, I answered " I really hope I get into Gryffindor, my mom was it that house." They all looked at me cheering and yelling, explaining they were all in Gryffindor. That day went a lot better than I had planned, and my axiety was drifting just as the train was from the station.
