42: two days

"i'm worried koo." big, pleading eyes looked up to jungkook, a view the alpha could coo at. not in that moment, though.

"i will be back in two days, pup." the alpha's calm answer didn't do anything to the omega, as he just hold tighter into the other's arm.

"please... just stay." the omega was scared. definitely scared.

he should've known that having an alpha plus the soon to be pack leader as his mate, means also he has to let him go to fight in battles. one of bangtan's rival packs decided against negotiating and finding solutions to clear up their misunderstandings and began trespassing their territory. bangtan's spy confirmed that they plan in attacking tomorrow.

taehyung isn't to blame when he wishes for nothing more but for jungkook not to join the battle. scared for his safety, the omega wants to have him close, there where he knows jungkook won't get hurt.

after finding out about the battle, taehyung has mentally gone through all worst case scenarios out there and none of them ended with jungkook returning back home.

"hey tae, are you crying?" jungkook's eyes widened, as he cupped the omega's face.

taehyung hadn't even realized that his eyes got teary. he shook his head out of jungkook's hold. "n-no.." he whispered, his voice breaking.

jungkook hates that sound more than he hates anything else. seeing taehyung cry is the worst. he softly pulled the omega into a tight hug, one that promised safety. taehyung began sobbing. "i'm scared you'll get h-hurt"

the alpha smiled lightly, as he brushed his hand up and down taehyung's back. "i won't get hurt, pup."

"b-but i'm scared to lose you, please just stay..."
taehyung clung onto jungkook's shirt. "d-don't go... stay with me."

"i know you don't want me to go," jungkook began quietly, "i'm an alpha and the soon to be pack leader, though. it's my duty to protect our pack. you need to let me go.. jimin and yoonji are also letting their mates go. even jin is letting namjoon go. they are also there, we will protect each other."

taehyung shook his head, tightening his hold on jungkook just more.

the alpha sighed. "can you stop being so sensitive, please?"

"i'm not sensitive." taehyung mumbled against jungkook's chest.

"taehyung, i'm an alpha, i'm born to fight. i have- need to go. you need to understand this." he doesn't know how he can convince his mate to let him go. he knew from the beginning on that taehyung will not want jungkook to go and that a discussion about it is inevitable.

"i don't want to..."

"tae, petal, i'll be back. it's just a small fight. don't you trust me?"

"i do but-

"there's no but, pup. i am an alpha and the soon to be pack leader. i can't always be with you, especially not when our pack is fighting. the need me, someone has to lead the troops on—

"someone else can just lead them on!"

"taehyung!"

"what!" the omega snapped back, his purple eyes glaring at jungkook, the alpha's red eyes staring back. it's been a while, but taehyung has eventually mastered holding eye contact with his mate, even if his eyes shone red. he still knows that it would need only one word said in jungkook's alpha voice to make taehyung weak and give in.

"don't raise your voice at me and stop being selfish."

"no, you don't get to raise your voice at me, jeon jungkook. just because you are a true blood, you think it's okay to risk your life while your mate is all alone at home?"
