Silence.

There was nothing heard throughout the Bokuto's residence. No one was yet awake, despite the warm sunlight trickling through the curtains, signaling the start of the new day.

Keiji began to stir, being slowly pulled from the grasp of his sleep, and he sat up slowly and carefully. His gaze shifted lovingly to the two dozing off next to him, not yet ready to wake from their peaceful slumber.

The corners of his mouth turned up into a small smile. Keiji deliberately moved his hand to his sons head, brushing the small boys' hair away from his forehead with light fingers.

Bokutos arm rest lazily over the small child, whom he named Eryu, as if to protect him. The man showed no signs of waking up soon, a puddle of drool seeping into his pillowcase. Only when the light from the sun reached his eyes did he begin to stir, mumbling his husband's name sleepily and shutting his eyes tighter.

Keiji carefully threw his legs over the edge of the bed, standing slowly, and traipsed cautiously to the window, pulling the curtains closer together and closing the blinds to further darken the room. Once he decided he couldn't dim the room anymore, he started towards the door.

"'Kaashi," a familiar voice groaned tiredly from behind him through the sounds of sheets ruffling. Keiji turned, smiling at the figure buried under their blanket.

"That's not my name anymore, Kou," Keiji giggled softly, making his way back to the bed and stopping a few steps away from it.

"Keiji," the man corrected himself, still half-asleep. "Lay with me, please."

The brunette sighed, but crawled back into bed as quietly as he could to lie down. "It's time to get up, you know."

"Don't care. Let me hold you."

"Eryu is still here," Keiji reminded Kotarou.

Koutarou lifted his arm defiantly, placing it over both his son and his husband. His fingers played with Kieji's hair absent-mindedly as he drifted back to sleep, his breathing slowly becoming steady.

Keiji, despite being fully awake, lay there, not moving an inch. A sigh escaped his lips at the realization that he would be there for a while, and there was no sign of him falling asleep again.

Looking at his son and husband, who both slept contently, he decided he didn't mind laying with them for a bit. The two looked serene as they lay there, and Keiji's eyes softened at the sight.

He was suddenly glad that Koutarou convinced him to stay.

Unfortunately, they have to wake up now, and Keiji, of course, would be the one to rouse them- which was a pain, knowing they would fight him to sleep longer.

"Koutarou, Eryu. It's time to wake up."

The two stretched, rubber their eyes, yawned, then said, "A little longer," and sank back into the blanket.
