"Don't shoot!" Bokuto shouted, throwing his arms up and staring down his offender. He held back a laugh, doing his best to look scared.
The child gave Bokuto a puzzled look, putting his weapon down. "It's only pretend."
Bokuto considered making a joke about how he just ruined the game, but he's still only four, so it can slide this once. "I'm just pretending, too."
The child laughed, pointing the toy gun at Bokuto once again and preparing to shoot at him. "You're gonna get it now!"
"No, please!" Bokuto shouted through his own laughter, getting up and running to the other side of the room. "I have a boyfriend! And a dog!"
The small brunette put on his best SpongeBob impression, locking eyes with Bokuto as he finally got a clear shot. "Your time is up, Pinhead! Bang, bang!"
Right before he could pull the trigger, the door opened, a tall man standing there. "Keep it down," he said, his statement mostly directed at his boyfriend. "Aren't you too old for this?"
"Keiji, you ruined it!" Bokuto exclaimed, falling onto the carpeted floor dramatically. "It was just getting good!"
"I'm so sorry," Keiji smiled.
"You better be!" Bokuto picked up the closest toy gun he could find, pointing it at Akaashi and shooting his arm.
"What the hell- Kou-"
"Hey-" Bokuto turned to the kid, "what did you say earlier?"
The child, Keiji's nephew, laughed. "Your time is up, Pinhead! Shoot him again!"
Bokuto laughed, shooting Akaashi once more before tossing the gun back into a random box. "I'm tired. When are we leaving?"
"After we eat with my family."
Bokuto frowned. As much as he was a people person, he was not one for dinners with his boyfriend's family. "Can I play for a little longer?"
"Are you gonna sit at the kids table, too?" Akaashi questioned sarcastically.
"Can he?" the youngest asked, bouncing up and down excitedly.
"Can I?" Bokuto pleaded.
Keiji rolled his eyes. "Dinner will be ready soon." With that, he closed the door and went back into the kitchen.
"Was that your boyfriend yelling in there?" Keiji's mother chuckled, reaching into a cabinet for tableware.
Keiji sighed and rolled his eyes, helping to get the dishes off of the higher shelves. "I'm afraid so."
"I'm starting to think he only comes over to play with the kids," Keiji's older sister giggled from where she sat, preparing a bowl of some variation of salad.
Their mother laughed. "I think so, too. I thought he would get along with your dad and uncles, since he was so athletic in school, but all he does is play with the little ones!"
"He just doesn't have the same idea of fun that we do, I guess," Keiji shrugged.
"Oh- Keiji," Bokuto walked over to his boyfriend, an army of small children following behind him. "We're gonna play outside, let me know if you need anything." He quickly gave Keiji a kiss on the cheek before marching outside.
"Have fun on your playdate," Keiji called after him, returning to the stares of his aunts and mother and sisters.
"You two are cute," his sister cooed. "I'm almost jealous. What did I do to not deserve a big, cute, stupid man? If you guys ever break up, I might even cry."
Keiji glanced at her, his expression indifferent. "You can have mine."
