Chapter Three

(Some of the chapter is from aweb1122's one-shot, Bruises Pt 2.)

*Hey! So I know so far that this has mostly been @aweb1122 's one-shot but more like a book. But I promise soon it's going to be more original.*

"Oh my gosh, Cathy! What happened to your cheek?" Jane exclaims and I glance down in fear.

"I don't know what you mean." I say, trying to play it off, "So do you wanna go out now?"

"Cathy. Why the hell do you have a bruise that looks like a handprint on your cheek?"

"It's nothing, Jane." she cups my cheek, turning it towards her so she can see.

"Cathy, do your parents hurt you?" she grabs my hand. Holy shit. She's holding my hand. Jane Seymour is holding my hand!

"N- no." I lie.

"Fine. But are you okay?"

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." I look away, "Weirdest dream you've ever had?"

She starts laughing, "When I was little, this weird dream began and it still goes on. So I go to the beach with my family, I'm like 2 or 3. I ended up finding Ariel from the Little Mermaid and I didn't want anyone to find out. So I take this container and put Ariel and some water in it. Then everyone's asleep and I take her to the bathroom and hold her above the toilet. She was like, 'Jane, no.' except my name was Judy, we'd just watched Zootopia. Anyway, I'm crying cause I feel bad and I drop it in the toilet and flush it." she finishes and I join her in laughter.

"What!? That's so weird," I say, "I'm calling you Judy from now on."

"Don't you dare!"

We end up telling each other really weird stories all lunch and the bruise is forgotten.

It's the next day and Jane's introducing me to her friends, "This is Aimie."

The pink haired girl grinned, "Heyyy!"

"Natalie from Natalie's salon."

The blonde-haired girl who looks very similar to Jane, "Nice to meet you."

"Millie from marketing."

The next girl has her hair loose, and is wearing a short green dress.

I smile and sit next to Aimie and across from Jane. She's told me a lot about her friends.

"Cathy... " Jane says, glancing away. I frown, Jane's never nervous. She fiddles with her heart-shaped locket which is engraved with her initials. I realize this must be big. I've only seen her play with her necklace two other times, before her debate and when her dad was really sick

"Yeah?" I answer, placing a reassuring hand on hers.

"I- I'm lesbian."

I almost scream. My crush is gay! Eeeh!

She looks at me in worry, "I- Is th- Nevermind."

"Jane. It's fine." I smile, "Me too!"
