Chapter Eight

Jane P.O.V

I stared up at the stage as Cathy stepped up on the stage and I smiled, remembering all our memories. We'd been together for over two years now, getting together the night Cathy's parents had put her in hospital and she'd moved in with her sister.

She nervously picked up the microphone, she'd always been scared of speaking too much in front of others, "H- hi.. I'm Catherine Parr. Sorry, you already know that bu- but I'm gonna be making the gr-graduation speech a- as... well.. y-yeah."

Her voice grew more confident as she went on, "I've gone through a lot here at this high school. And I just wanna say thank you to all the teachers especially you, Ms Quansah-Breed who introduced me to my girlfriend of two years and five months."

The audience laughed and Cathy smiled, "So happy graduation, Year 12!"

She quickly hurried off the stage and I hugged her when she sat down next to me, "You did great!"

"Thanks, JJ!"

I nervously clenched my hands as I rang the bell at the desk at the start of the hallway of dorms. Cathy quickly reassured me, kissing my cheek, "We're going to be amazing!"

While we were waiting for the office lady, Millie and Natalie ran over to us from one of the dorms, grinning stupidly, "We're rooming together!"

"Yay!" Cathy said, "Me and Jane asked to be put together too so hopefully, we will!"

Finally, a woman walked over to us, "Name?"

"Jane Seymour and Catherine Parr."

"You're the third dorm along there," she said, pointing to the left side of the hallway and then she turned to Cathy, "And you're dorm 6."

I frowned, "I think there's something wrong. Cathy and I requested to be roomed together?"

"No mistake here." she replied, holding up the piece of paper.

Cathy shook her head at me, "It's fine." She began carrying her stuff to Dorm 6 while Natalie helped me with mine. Millie rushed over to help Cathy.

I stepped inside my dorm and looked around, one side was already decorated. The bed was adorned with green stars along the bed frame and a matching quilt. The person had stuck several posters along the wall. They were quite messily stuck on, the opposite of her bed.

I shrugged and placed my bags down, only to feel someone hugging me, "Hey! You must be Jane! I'm Anne, what do you think of my bed? My cousin, Kat did it for me! What are you studying? And do you need any help unpacking?"

Shakily, I only managed to answer one question, "Yes."

*For those Anne stans.*
