Alex's parents had been divorced sense he was in kindergarten. He hadn't seen his dad much until he was in second grade, but his dad did try. One day his dad brought him to meet a nice lady, who ended up to be his dads girlfriend. His dad moved to Connecticut with his girlfriend Silene pretty quickly. Everything was nice at first, Alex stayed at his moms house for school and during the weekends, although his dad did take him with him to Connecticut on some Saturdays. It took him a little while, but he did get used to the drive. 2 and a half hours there and 2 and a half hours back was a lot for a 7 year old. Not too long after that, he had his own room there. Finally, he spent full weekends with his dad and his girlfriend, and it was nice. Life was good.
As Alex got older, things became more and more difficult for him. His dad started to get in fights with his mom even when they weren't together anymore. He and his mom got in fights. His dad and Silene constantly got in fights that ended up in the 45 year old women crying to the 11 year old about how awful his father was. She always told Alex things he shouldn't know, and said things to him, about him, that were never okay. Little Alex started to get more timid and nervous, and just wanted to go home.
Pretty soon, Alex's dad left Silene, but it wasn't soon enough. The pre-teen suffered from un-diagnosed anxiety, and had some incidents with his best friend that called for help from the nurse and Alex's parents. At that point, he was in 7th grade, and he felt like things couldn't get worse. Puberty stunk, his friends stunk, his emotional state stunk, his self identity crisis stunk, just everything stunk! However, it didn't take long for his dad to meet someone else, Amanda. And immediately, Alex loved her. She was the exact opposite of Silene, it seemed like she actually cared for him. Sadly, that was when things got even worse. Not too long into their relationship, Alex's dad had a heart attack and sadly passed away. Amanda blamed it all on the teen, and caused his fathers whole family to turn against him. Only a few months after that, Alex was was waiting for his mom to get home from work, when someone knocked on his door. When he went to see if there was a car in the driveway, he noticed a police officer. He hesitantly went to the door, and proceeded to get told that his mom was in a fatal car accident, and had sadly passed away on the scene.
So yeah, his life was absolutely horrible. They didn't allow either of his friend's parents to take him in, forcing him into a group home. He was only allowed to take two of his backpacks and his little suitcase, which was he was pretty alright with. After some years of stuffing clothes, electronics and things to do in only two bags, he was quite alright with that. He stuffed all his clothes in his suitcase, which oddly wasn't a lot. He fit all of his electronics, his books and his drawing supplies in a medium sized old school backpack he had gotten, and then his funko pops, pictures, CDs and other things in a big backpack he had gotten, along with his camera. Alex had gotten more clothes while he was at the group home, needing it as he grew just slightly and as his body changed.
So after his anxiety attack, it wasn't too difficult to try to stuff his things, knew and old, into his bags. Of course this time, he had help. Lucas helped to gather all of Alex's things, talking to him about the move and Brendon and Dallon and everything.
Alex sighed, folding his last shirt and stuffing it into the already stuffed suitcase. Lucas looked over, slowly sitting on his bed.
