When we got back to the jail there were tons of walkers lined up against the gate Maggie, Glenn, Rick and Carl were fighting them and trying to rebuild the gate.
"Daryll we have to go." I yell in panic
"Well, shoot then let's get to it!" He says taking the lead. I rip out my daggers and twist them into the back of the skull of two walkers I put one throw another's eye and kicked it down. I was so overwhelmed with all of them. I started to run backwards shooting into the air trying to draw them away from the fence. When all of a sudden I tripped and twisted my ankle "AHHH" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Laying in a small stream I reload quickly but not quick enough. One of them fall on me. I held it up and fought it back the best I could but I was ready to give up. 'POW!!' The walker was now dead...again, I pushed it off. Got up and saw Carl with his pistol standing over me. I jumped out and threw my arms around his neck and hugged him tight "thank you thank you so much!" I say slowly letting go.
"Haha your welcome Ellie...I like the sound of that, Ellie'" He repeated slowly "Is that ok with you?" He smirked.
"Yeah. I like the sound of that." I said with a smile "ugh" I grunt tumbling back to the ground. "Wow you okay?" He asked bending down to help me up
"Ugh it's my ankle I twisted it" I explain grabbing his shoulder "thanks for the help"
"No problem" he says helping me to the gate. Daryl let us in and carried me to my bed.
"I'll have Hershel take a look at you but for now get some rest"
"Ok" I agree. I close my eye and peacefully fall asleep knowing that I'm safe.
The next morning I woke up in extreme pain. More then I had been last night when I twisted my ankle. I tried to sit up but it wasn't going to happen. So I adjusted my pillow and laid back down.
"I brought you breakfast Ellie" I sat up to see Carl leaning against the door.
“Awe thank you," I say waving him in "you shouldn't have" I say. I figured Rick had him bring it to me but I wasn't going to say anything.
"How's your ankle?" he asks reaching for my ankle then quickly pulling back.
"Not much better but I'll be fine." I smile. Carl was really cute and sweet, but I had to resist. I didn't want to fall for someone and then have it all come crashing down when I lose them.
"Here take this..." Carl reached in his pocket and pulled out a small silver bell with a string tied to it "...I'll come to you. Just ring the bell. Anytime you need me" he hands me the bell. Ughh what am I suppose to say to that? I don't want to seem all romantic.
"Ohh, awe thanks buddy" I say awkwardly, punching him gently on the arm "...so uh I'm going to lay down for a little bit, I'll ah catch you later." Oh god I couldn't be more awkward.
"Yeah. See you later." He says getting off the bed and leaving. -
Hershel woke me up from my nap with some good news. Apparently he was missing a leg but gotten a fake one. Strange I know. I didn't even realize. But anyway he had given me his old crutches so I can finally move around. I was really unsure about staying in the prison. I really liked the idea of having people, shelter, supply's and protection. But I needed to know what happened to my family. I 'walked' out to courtyard, looking out at what the world had come to and trying deciding what my next move was. Life is like a game you play your cards right you will win. Before the crap hit the fan, life was more like candy land. It's not to hard to win, but there are a few bad cards shuffled in there that can set you back to the lowest level. But now that the sickness spread. It's more like shoots and latter's one false move and it's all over, and the right move will put you on the top of the situation. You win or you lose that's it, and I want to win; No I'm going to win
