16. Fight

Two weeks later

I smiled as I whistled and the kids squealed around me. I have taken the kids from the nursery to a nearby park. Since I got a proper job, I haven't been going to the nursery and the kids started to miss me. Since today is Sunday, I decided to bring them to the park to have some fun.

"Can I do it?" A little boy asked me cutely. I smiled while I clean the whistle before handing it to him. He whistled too and the sound got him excited. I kept playing with them and I had lots of fun. Kids are always a blessing.

"Priscilla?" I turned to see Mr. Calland standing next to me, with his hands in his pockets. He was wearing causal clothes and my eyes immediately checked him out. He was looking so handsome. He almost caught me staring at him when I tore my gaze away.

"Hi sir"

I was shocked to see Mr. Mathur coming from behind along with a girl. She was beautiful and it took me. A second to realise it was none other than Ms. Singhania.

"Hello sir" I greeted Mr. Mathur and he nodded politely.

"Omg, you're so pretty" Ms. Singhania squealed and she held my hand. I blushed looking down.

"Thank you Ms. Singhania, you look fantastic too"

"Oh drop that. Call us by our names. I'm Shanaya" she shook my hand and she seems really a fun person.

"And this is my fiance Shyam, or you may know him as your boss" she chuckled teasing him and my eyes widened. I turned her hand over and there was a big diamond on her hand.

"Wow! Congratulations" I squealed and she smiled.

"Thank you umm...."

"Priscilla, Priscilla Campbell" she nodded.

"They?" She pointed at the kids.

"I volunteer at the nursery nearby"

"That's great, I love babies too" she squealed and ran to the kids. She introduced herself and the kids started playing with her. She brought some candies for them and they immediately attacked her with hugs.

"Babe" Shayam walked towards her. It was just him and I.

"Want to grab a bite after this?" He asked. I was shocked to see him asking me. I looked back at the kids and he understood immediately.

"Y..you and I?" I shuttered. He smiled lightly before pointing at the couple. I mentally hit my head.

"We'll take them too of course, or if that's not allowed, we can drop them first" he said pointing at the kids.

"It's better to drop them off Mr. Calland" I stated. He suddenly pulled walked close to me and looked me in the eye. His auroma was intoxicating and I felt myself being pulled to him. He put his hands on my cheek and suddenly I felt the warmth spread all over my body. I closed my eyes, just inhaling deeply cause my body is reacting differently.

"It's Rick for you outside work" he caressed my cheek and left with a smile. I immediately missed his touch. What the hell is wrong with me?

I walked to the kids and soon we dropped them to the nursery. I promised them to visit soon and bid bye.

Rick drove to the restaurant and Shayam was sitting next to him. I was accompanied by Shanaya in the back seat and we kept talking until we reach the restaurant.

"Girls, we are here" Shayam said.

"How much do you guys talk? Don't you ever get tired!" Rick rolled his eyes and I chuckled. Shayana glared at him.

"Put up with it otherwise you won't get any girl" she said savagely and Shayam chuckled.

"Babe let's go"

He pulled her inside and Rick and I walked behind them.

"Is that true?" Rick suddenly asked me pointing at Shanaya. I chuckled before answering.

"Girls love talking, but I'm sure you'll find someone who matches your taste"

"What about you?" I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Are you talkative? I have never seen you talking so much"

What does he expect from me? Talk to my boss like an old friend? Tell him my likes and dislikes and my everyday routine!?

"You're my boss and I work under you. I like to be professional in work"

"Yeah, that's one of the things I like about you" he whispered lightly before winking. I was shocked to see that. We silently entered the life along with the couple and soon reached our table. I ordered a salmon steak and Shayam went for a salad while the boys ordered a bacon meal. The food was served and I saw the waitress making eyes at me. I tried ignoring him but he lightly brushed my hand and suddenly he was pushed back by Rick.

"Don't you dare"

He caught everyone's attention and soon the waitress apologized and ran inside.

"Priscilla, you ok?" Shayana asked.

"Yes, I'm fine" I smiled.

"You have to speak if something like this happens. You're not a kid to expect someone else to be your mouth" he started yelling like a mad person and everyone around were looking at us. I felt embarassed.

"I know what I'm doing. You didn't have to do that for me. I am not a kid, so don't even think of doing favour to a kid"

I barged out of the restaurant without waiting for anyone. I don't need anyone protecting me.

Stephen often used to be so protective over me and I started to blindly trust him. I received the price for that and I'm not willing to walk down that path again. I don't care if I'm rude, cause I need to start making boundaries around me and protect my heart and my body without depending on anyone.
I know it's going to be tough but that's what will make me strong.
