14. Prick

Priscilla Campbell

My legs are aching from walking all day. The construction was over a hundred acres and I am not even done with half yet. My legs are worn out and I need energy to get myself going.

I walked to my cabin in the fifth floor and taking my purse and phone, I walked out. I saw Gina still working.

"Hey"

"Hey Priscilla, done with your work?"

I looked at her in disbelief and she chuckled.

"I understand" she took her phone and started walking with me to the lift.

"Do you know any place around for lunch?"

"I'll show you. Or better, we can eat together?"

"Yes sure" we walked out of the lift and went across the street. We started walking to the right and she told me there's a good sushi place nearby. I love sushi but I'm very picky. I hope it tastes good.

"So this construction is under Mathur industries?" I asked.

"Yes, Shayam Mathur is the CEO"

"But.."

"He's gone back to NYC and Mr. Calland is now responsible till he comes back" she explained and I nodded.

"Don't take me wrong but I find Mr. Calland very intimidating" she turned to look at me in surprise.

"How are you saying that?"

"I don't know honestly. His aura is very cold and just not the pleasant type"

As we reached the shop, we took a seat and the waiter came to take our orders.

"I agree he's not that fun to talk too, I mean he's th boss. What else do you expect from him?" She rolled her eye and I chuckled.

"Yeah right, he's so cold"

"Maybe something has turned him into that" I agreed, maybe.

"So where did you work earlier?" She asked and we kept talking about random stuff. It was fun hanging out with her. Soon we reached office and I was in the site of construction. I took down some notes and introduced myself as the supervisor to all the employees. I asked them to assemble for a meeting tomorrow's cause it's always better to discuss everything.

It was almost 4pm when I left my cabin. I took my bag and noticed Gina already left. Walking to the road, I was waiting for a cab when a car pulled over near me.

"Priscilla?"

I leaned down to look through the window.

"Mr. Calland?"

"Whom are you waiting for?"

"Um..cab" It was awkward.

"Get in, I'll drop you"

"No it's fine sir, I'll manage"
Of course I can't ask my boss's friend, edits technically my boss to drop me.

"Ms. Campbell, I order you"

His cold stare affected me and I obliged.

"Lead the way please Priscilla" he smiled.

He's so bipolar!

I quickly gave him my address and he turned on his gps. I kept silent on my way not knowing what to speak.

"So how's work?" He asked. His head was straight at the road.

"I really like it sir" I turned to him and smiled.

"So I'm cold huh?"

My breath hitched when he asked that. My eyes widened and I looked at him. His eyes looked at me through the side and he chuckled a little bit.

"I was just...it was...I'm .." I stammered. This is so embarrassing.

"What?"

"I'm sorry sir, I won't bas mouth you again" I apologized sincerely. I think all the walls have ears. I need to be careful.

"I am surprised you accepted it. But I also expect you to say anything to my face, if I'm being nice or a douche bag"

That surprised me.

"Y..yes sir"

"So what do you think about the construction designs?" He asked. I'm quite surprised with him asking me. I'm just a supervisor and he doesn't need my opinion.

I took out my phone and opened the construction design.

"I quiet like it but the parking spot can be open instead of garage so that the underground doesn't get heated so much. Also since you're already having a coverup story, this won't be much of a problem" I said pointing at my phone. I looked at him and he's already looking at my phone. He was really paying attention.

"So then the gym has to be shifted too since that's on the top floor of the parking space"

"That can be adjusted in the ground floor itself" I said and closed my phone. Opening my ipad, I opened the drawing app and tried to draw a rough sketch of my idea. He kept driving but in between he would look at me and at my ipad. After I'm done, he looked at it keenly.

"But won't this lead to a empty back space, the security will be weak cause there's nothing really going on in the back side of the building" he said. I understood what he's saying but I need time to explain everything properly.

"Sir, I'll give you the design may be tomorrow?" He smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, that'd be great. Will you be able to make it tomorrow?" He asked.

"Yeah sure, I'll get back to you tomorrow then"

At the same time we reached my apartment and he parked on the side. He smiled as j thanked him. I kept my ipad inside my bag and got out of the car. As I walked to my house, the men on the road started staring at me. This is nothing new for me. I always get attention every where I go and by now I know how to defend myself if someone attacks me cause that happened so many times with me, especially here.

As I was about to enter, a prick held my hand all of a sudden.

"300 for a night?" He winked and I looked at him with disgust. He was taken aback when I glared at him and I stepped my heal on his foot. He hissed and let me go.

"Bitch" he cursed in French but I don't give a hell. I rolled my eyes and gave him a warning sign before going inside.
