{love me some worried Deku and confused Katsuki <3}
And now? Well, now they're here.
Two distant college boys sharing the uncomfortable silence of a broken heart. The cries coming from the blond by Midoriya's side are the only things that shatters it.

Bakugou is still in shambles by the time the car turns onto his street. Midoriya can't see any lights on inside the house they were heading towards and figures Bakugou's parents are asleep. As he drives closer, the fact that his friend still in a state of tears prods and picks at him.
Midoriya slows the car down, lingering near the house but not yet turning towards it. Something in his chest was nagging at him, like just dropping his friend off here would be insensitive and wrong.
He pauses and leans back against his seat. He forces his mind to think, a normally uncontrollable action that Midoriya couldn't seem to do as of the last thirty minutes.
His conscious plagues his thoughts with the recollection of texts he had seen earlier. Thinking about it feels like it opens a gaping hole in his chest - accompanied with the same sinking feeling from before. It had been seven months but Midoriya was still so tentative about the subject.
Seven months ago, in March, Bakugou came out to his parents.
The only reason he knows about it is because of Kaminari, who he had become friendly with thanks to their multiple classes together.
The yellow-blond boy had sought him out and blubbered the situation to him, desperately asking for his advice on how Bakugou could be consoled.
Midoriya was originally confused on why he had come to him for help, but supposed it was somewhat rational when Kaminari told him it was because Midoriya had known him the longest.
Kaminari didn't share everything, so there were still some blanks to the story. Midoriya had specifically asked him not to, though, since Kaminari had a tendency to overshare when he was frazzled.
Even though his curiosity was killing him, he didn't want to know something so personal about Kacchan if it wasn't from the boy himself. If Kacchan found it of need to tell Midoriya, then he should have the option to do so on his own terms.
Kaminari had FaceTimed him late at night and out of the blue. He answered, a little surprised since they only ever texted or called a couple times (usually because Kaminari had procrastinated on studying for a test and called Midoriya to help him cram). When it connected, he found a stress-eating Kaminari on the other end.
His peer explained the dilemma. It seemed that Bakugou had been very stressed as of the late, pulling Kirishima aside to vent more often than usual. Kaminari had told him that the day before, Bakugou trudged into the red-head's room while the group was playing video games.
He said that Bakugou was pissed - something about having enough of mother's "bullshit taste." Later on, when Bakugou had grabbed his car keys and stormed out towards the parking lot, Kirishima had told the confused group of friends that Bakugou's mom had been setting the boy up on multiple, un-requested dates with girls lately.
Apparently Bakugou had turned each and every one of them down, hoping his Mom would take the hint and listen to him when he said he wasn't interested.
When he heard this, Midoriya had resisted a grimace. Mrs. Bakugou is a person full of prudence and character, but she's also very, very insistent. And Kacchan is consequently very, very stubborn. That was the last of the red flags Midoriya needed to confirm that this was going to end badly between the two of them.
