{hope y'all are ready for a CRAP TON of angst pfft.. thanks for waiting and enjoy!!}
Bakugou and Midoriya had known each other for a long, long time. For as long as either of them could remember. Though, from the outside, you probably wouldn't have been able to tell.
The two college boys were different in personality, in what subjects they studied, in their ambitions and views that so often clashed with the other's. They didn't seem like childhood friends who had managed to stay stuck with each other for over ten years.
Midoriya still felt like he was stretching the boundary whenever he said that they were friends, despite how much he wanted to be.
Even with all the aspects that they were dissimilar in, they ended up interacting more often than not. As if their dysfunctional college student brains were often having the same thought processes.
They'd awkwardly meet eyes in the cafeteria while being there to grab breakfast at the crack of dawn. They'd avoid each other at the convenience store while on a grocery run or going to refuel their stash of iced coffee (...ok that one's mostly Midoriya). In the library they would both be there late, Midoriya watching Bakugou leave before getting ushered out himself half an hour later.
Little run-ins would happen all the time, constantly reminding them of their involuntary connection to the other boy despite no words being exchanged. And every time, Midoriya's eyes would always linger on Kacchan.
As he drives, Midoriya thinks about how quickly things had escalated, how drastically different this is compared to their normal awkward encounters.
The car underneath him rumbles gently and the blond in the seat next to him heaves a shudder.
With his scarred hands tightening their grip on the steering wheel, Midoriya can't help but wonder what he was supposed to do now.

It was a couple days before Halloween and the college kids got the week off in honor of it. Midoriya sat on a stool in their kitchen, talking to his mother about the wonders of college and all the new people he's met there. Studying psychology had really opened up a lot of new things to him.
"Wow, I can't believe your teachers are that strict, Izuku!" Midoriya's mom buzzed around the kitchen in her "boo! you can't scare me, I'm a single mom!" apron. Her son smiled from the kitchen counter behind her, the smell of sugar cookies wafting through the air.
"Yea, Aizawa-sensei can be pretty tough, but he's a really smart and calculated man. Ochako hates how much work he gives but I think I'm gonna end up liking him in the end." Midoriya chuckled.
Inko turned to him with warmth in her eyes green eyes. "Hmm, you and your studies. You must work so hard. I'm so proud of my baby." She cupped his freckled cheeks endearingly before getting patted away by an embarrassed Midoriya.
"It's really not that bad.." He said, hand behind his neck. She gave him one last look of loving pride before turning back around to the hot tray of cookies.
He was just about to offer his help in decorating when his phone pinged. He fished his phone out curiously, wondering if it was Todoroki or Asui asking about his Halloween plans.
As he unlocked it, though, it was not Todoroki. Or Uraraka, or Iida, or Asui, or any of the other five people that ever text him.
No. It was not one of his friends, but rather a text from Kacchan. Kacchan.
