They arrive at the Blake's large suburban home. White panelling and gray stone cover the outside with pretty flora growing in the flowerbeds. Octavia drives onto the double car driveway and Raven stops the music. Bellamy's gray truck is already parked next to them and Murphy's old Honda is on the road. They are the last to arrive. The girls exit the vehicle and as Clarke turns to shut the door behind her, she sees O poke Lexa's shoulder on the other side of the car. Lexa laughs and the air is filled with that beautiful sound. Clarke grins but quickly turns it into a frown. Lexa softly shoves Octavia's arms as she closes her door. Are they flirting? Clarke thinks. Lexa must know that O is in a relationship, how could she not? And Octavia knows that she likes Lexa. Thoughts cloud Clarke's mind as Raven loops her arm through the blonde's, shuts the still open door with her other hand, and spins her friend around, pulling her towards the house.
"We're here!" Raven shouts through the house.
"Good, pizza's on the way," Jasper says, sticking his head out the kitchen with a large bowl of chips in his hands. The girls take off their shoes and toss their backpacks on the already large pile by the door. Octavia leads the group into the kitchen where Harper and Emori are baking cookies on the island.
"Bell, Murphy, and Maya are downstairs picking a movie," Monty states from his position on the counter.
"Not without me they aren't!" Rae calls grabbing O by the arm and running down into the basement making the group chuckle. Clarke finds herself leaning against the counter beside Lexa, neither of them engaging in conversation. Jasper passes the chip bowl around and when it gets back to him, heads downstairs with Monty.
"Hey, can you grab the chocolate chips, Clarke?" Harper asks.
"Sure," says Clarke straightening up and walking into the large pantry.
"I find it funny how you guys know where everything is. It's like you live here," Lexa jokes from the other room.
"It's not the first time we've made cookies here," Emori laughs.
Clarke scans the pantry for the chocolate chips and spots them on the top shelf. She stands on her tiptoes but can't reach them. She sighs, letting her hands fall to her sides. She was going to have to ask Lexa for help. It wasn't a big deal but it will be the first real sentence she will ever say to her. "Lexa," Clarke calls
"Yeah?"
"Can I have some help in here?"
Lexa steps into the pantry looking at Clarke questionably. "Can you reach the chocolate chips for me?" Clarke asks shyly, taking a step back so Lexa can get to the shelf. The brunette smiles and reaches for the bag, her shirt pulls up a bit exposing her abs. Clarke's mouth drops but quickly recovers herself as Lexa hands the bag to her. "Thanks."
"Your welcome," Lexa grins as she leaves the pantry. Clarke releases the breath she didn't know she was holding and tilts her head back. Why does this girl make me so nervous?
"Here," Clarke says, placing the bag of chocolate beside the bakers.
"Thanks," Harper beams, measuring out the chips and adding them into the mixture. Emori mixes the batter and grabs the pre-sprayed pan off the counter behind her.
"Emori, babe we need your input!" Murphy shouts from the basement. Emori rolls her eyes and places the spoon in her hand down.
"You better come too," she says to Harper. The blonde laughs and turns to Clarke and Lexa, asking them if they could finish the cookies. The two agree and then are left in the kitchen. Clarke can feel her pulse quicken. She has never been alone with Lexa before.
"Okay..." Lexa says, filling the silence.
"Right," Clarke snaps out of her thoughts and steps forwards. She takes a small handful of batter out of the bowl and shapes it into a small ball, placing it onto the baking pan. Lexa does the same. Clarke tries to think of something to say but can't think of anything the two have in common. She sticks her hand back into the bowl and makes contact with Lexa's. Clarke jumps, pulling her hand out of the bowl. "Sorry," she gasps. Lexa laughs.
"Don't worry. It's just my hand."
"Yeah, I know," Clarke says, forcing a small laugh. She waits until Lexa has her ball of batter before sticking her hand back into the bowl. The two manage to make small talk before the doorbell rings.
"I'll get it," Lexa offers, washing her hands quickly and rushing out of the kitchen. Just as she leaves Octavia comes bounding up the stairs.
"I got it!" She yells, running past Clarke. The blonde can hear some teasing coming from the foyer and can feel herself tense. What was up with the two and the teasing?
Clarke finishes filling the pan and slides it into the oven, setting a timer. O and Lexa re-enter the kitchen with two large pizza boxes in hand. Both of them were laughing at each other. They must be flirting. Oh god, I have to tell Rae. Clarke thinks.
