I'm doing it to protect her.

Laurens POV :

"I know im like super happy for them" I squealed down the phone to Bertie staring proudly at my talented boyfriend who couldn't stop smiling. 

"Imagine how big they could become" Bertie says with an enchanted tone in his voice as we both fell silent thinking about what the future may hold for my other fives best friends. Suddenly i heard Bertie sigh disappointingly and i could tell there was something troubling him. 

"Whats wrong Bertie boy?" I ask and he sighs yet again and opens his mouth to begin telling me something i didn't expect. 

"I don't think i can be with Dayna anymore" He began and my mouth gaped open without my control.

"ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS BERTIE GILBERT WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? SHE IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU" I screech and i hear him get angry and huff trying to explain but each time my shouting gets in the way.

"LAUREN SHUT UP" He begins and sigh letting him explain his crazy thoughts. "How is she ever going to be happy being with someone she can never see? and what if she finds some one else but wont be with them because she feels to guilty leaving me, that can't be fair on her can it" He slowly explains and i feel irritated by the fact that his words where making a level of sense but i always thought Bertie and Dayna would end up getting married or something, i never imagined them to break up. 

"So.....when are you doing it?" I sadly ask and he doesn't reply for a few moments and i can hear him clicking his tongue like he always does when he's thinking intensely about something.

"I don't know. I need time to think things over" He says in a serious voice and i nod along as if he can see which he can't. 

"I'm sorry Bertie" I say and he huffs disappointingly again.

"Its alright. Listen I'm going now....i need to think" He states and with that we both hang up. I sit there in silence for a moment hoping Bertie would change his mind but then i remembered how stubborn he was. Niall caught eye contact with me and walked over with a concerned look across his flawless face. 

"Baby, whats wrong?" He asks and i just shrug hopelessly. 

"Bertie and Dayna are going to break up....Bertie is dumping her" I explain, which makes him shake his head sadly taking my hand and squeezing it reassuringly. 

"Is that it? i feel as if there's more you need to tell me?" He continues and i try to pretend im not holding something back but i was. 

"I had a horrible dream last night and it scared me" I explain and i move closer to him a little for comfort and he presses my head on his shoulder gently. 

"What about? You know you can tell me anything?" He asks telling me things i already knew. I trusted this boy with my life. 

"I had a dream that......" I didn't want to sound pathetic but i knew he would worry if i didn't tell him. "I had a dream that you didn't love me anymore" I say my voice cracking a little as the words where hard to blurt out. His face drops dramatically and he pulls me into his chest where i can feel the beating of his heart. I feel his cold fingers brush my fringe out of my eyes and play with my hair to relax me. 

"Listen to me" His voice sounded deeper than usual and i could tell he was going to say something very serious and deep. "I will never ever stop loving you, no matter what happens. You could murder someone and i wouldn't stop loving you, you could do the coldest most heartbreaking thing  in the world and i still wouldn't stop loving you because you don't just stop loving someone...." He stops moving me so our eyes where glued together. "Specially when someone loves someone as much as i love you....that's impossible to fade away" He says kissing my forehead and my body begins to feel less tense. He strokes the side of my arm to relax me and sways us both from side to side his arm wrapped around my waist. And when we both look up from each others eyes we see our best friends staring at us with there hands clasped together smiling adoringly.
