Judis Naomi Carter"Alright, so you put these papers here whenever you done straightening them up." He says looking over at Sandra. He had been avoiding making eye contact with me since I got here.
I didn't too much care but it was weird. Last time he was all smiles now all of a sudden I'm too ugly to look at?
I still wasn't talking to Sandra I hated a person that thought they knew me like a book. She only knew what I allowed her to see nobody knows why I'm in the group home but Ms. Turner and me and I like it that way I don't do too well with sympathy.
Ever since she found me at the scene she's been taking care of me treating me as her own. Soon as she called the social worker she applied for a job at the home since she already had her child care license.
She's been by my side every step of the way and she's never left. She told me that when I turned eighteen she would get me a apartment.
Looking up I saw their eyes on me causing me to scrunch up my face. "What?" I ask mugging them.
Sandra chuckled. "Get out of lala land and listen." She says looking over at him.
He nodded. "Worry bout you." I say twisting my locs.
He raised up his hand. "It was a harmless joke." He says. "Don't you have any since of humor?" He asks.
"Joke? Humor? This is a job is it not? What we joking for?" I asked him with my brows raised. They were irking me.
The door opened and a dark skin lady walked in. Her eyes on me the whole time causing me to mug her I hated when people stared at me.
She chuckled. "Hello, I'm Angela." She says looking from me and Sandra.
I only nodded. Sandra smiled back and waved with her friendly ass.
The lady looked at me once again. "I like your dreads, how long?" She asks.
"Some years." I say keeping it short. She nodded.
"Well, it's nice meeting you." She says looking at me intently. "Judis." I say. She smiled then directed her attention to Carter.
"I came by to talk to you I don't like they way we left things the other day I shouldn't have blew things out of proportion." She tells him.
I just pulled out my phone not wanting to be in there business. Sandra looked over at me her eyes going wide. "Where did you get that phone?" She asks me.
I scrunched up my face. "Why, you in my business?" I ask annoyed.
She just shrugged. "Your job doesn't pay you enough to have the newest phone so I'm curious." She says shifting her weight onto the other foot.
I chuckled. "That's where you wrong, you don't see my check so why you assuming?" I ask. She just shrugged. "You stay saying your job doesn't pay you enough." She says.
"So, if I say it's a hundred dollars under the bridge you gone believe that too?" I ask.
"I say what I say so y'all won't be in my business I owe nobody a explanation when it comes to my things." I tell her straight up.
Looking up Carter and his wife were just staring at me. "Some on my face?" I ask. They shook their heads.
She spoke first. "You just look like somebody I know." She tells me. Carter nodded.
