Chapter 4

{Carl's Pov}
The first person to find out about Me and Lenny was Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, everyone's favorite store clerk. He had only found out because of a late night shift and a very sleepy Lenny. It had to be at least 2:30 a.m when We walked into the Kwik-E-Mart, thank god for Apu and his long hours. The bright fluorescent lights almost blinding us as we walked in. Burn's latest form of torture was gruelingly late shifts. All me and my boyfriend wanted to do was go home and go to bed but we needed some groceries and this was the only free time that we were going to have. Lenny leaned against a shelf and watched me as I grabbed the various items that we needed. He looked absolutely exhausted, you could see it in his eyes. He pulled the sleeves of his sweater around his hands making tight fists, He was cold and had we been alone I would have given him my jacket but we had both decided that keeping our relationship on the down low would be the best idea. He grabbed a couple of boxes of Krusty-O's and shoved them into the cheap plastic basket "What? we need cereal" He shrugs a small smile playing on his lips. I grabbed the basket of groceries and walked over to the cash register. "Hey Apu, How have you been man?" I smiled handing him the basket "I've been better." He replies starting to ring us up. Lenny yawns and rests his head on my shoulder, he runs his hand along some various cans at the counter unknowingly screwing us over. I look down at him my cheeks burning I then look up at Apu who smirked. I smile sheepishly at him and then back down at my half asleep boyfriend "um he's... drunk... yeah we just um went to Moe's" I tried covering for us. "Mhm sure." Apu teased handing me a receipt I grumbled random curses grabbing our bags of groceries and leading Lenny outside to our car. "Thank you, come again." I heard Apu say.
