Catherine's (y/n) point of view
The journey back home was quiet, both Cody and Sophia don't have to say anything but I knew they were worried about the new situation going on everywhere around the world. Never in my life did I think we'd go through one pandemic let alone two but what makes it worse it's the same pandemic than it was before.
As I was driving the car I kept looking in the rearview mirror looking at both Cody and Sophia. Even though Cody is 16 and Sophia is 15 I can see they're both scared and they need me to comfort them and protect them from any harm. When I looked away I couldn't help but feel myself breaking down. I feel like I've failed them both, I feel like I can't protect them. I can't even protect them from this hidden enemy and illness.
As a single tear fell from my eye I felt Cody place his hand on my shoulder to reassure me everything is OK and I'm doing the best job I can keeping him and his sister safe. I placed my hand on top of Cody's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
Cody: "everything will be OK mom"
I couldn't say anything all I could do was smile at him.
Soon enough we were finally pulling up into our drive and got out of the car and entered our safe zone..... Our home. As soon as we all walked in Zak came over to greet us and gave each one of us a reassuring hug. When Zak came over to me he saw that I've been crying.
Zak: "everything will be OK baby, I promise"
Catherine (y/n): "I know baby, I just keep having these thoughts that's all"
Zak placed both of his hands on the side of my face, gently stroked my cheeks before he kissed me.
Zak's point of view
Seeing my family in fear hurts me, I feel like I've failed them all by not being able to keep them safe. What it makes it worse I feel scared about it all too, how am I supposed to keep my family safe if I'm also feeling scared.
But I will do everything I can to keep them all healthy and safe. I know one thing for sure we will all get through this together and be a stronger family.
As I had my arms wrapped around Catherine (y/n) I can feel her starting to feel relaxed again and even saw a little smile appearing on her face.
Sophia: "Dad, will we still be able to see everybody?"
I looked at Catherine (y/n) before I went over to Sophia. As I walked over to Sophia I held her hands in mine and comforted her.
Zak: "I'm not too sure sweetie but both me and your mom will find a way where we can still see everyone. If we can't then I promise you one day we will be able to see everyone again"
Sophia looked up at me before she wrapped her arms around me and squeezed me tight. No matter how big and grown up Cody and Sophia gets I'll always hold them in my embrace and comfort them in their time of need.
Cody: "Dad as we're all home for a while will you show us footages from your investigations?"
Zak: "of course I will son, you know I always like showing you and Sophia mine and your uncles' investigations"
In that very second I saw both Cody and Sophia have big smiles on their faces, I love showing these two footage and evidences of mine and the guys investigations. I know Sophia likes the paranormal but seeing Cody get so involved makes me so proud, I really do hope one day Cody will follow in my footsteps and become a paranormal Investigator just like me.
Cody's point of view
** a little bit later **
After such a roller-coaster kind of day I have to admit being home with mom, dad and Sophia is amazing, we've had so much fun already and we've only just started lockdown. I really hope they'll be a lot more great family moments.
After dinner I went into my bedroom to put away my school books and then relax for a while before bed..... OK I done way more than put my school books away I got busy tidying my room. But as I was almost finished I started to have a strange feeling like I did earlier again, I can't describe it but it really feels like I can feel what everyone else is thinking and feeling.
Not only that I'm picking up things I don't even know what it is. As I was just standing on the spot in my room I suddenly felt something touch me. It felt like a hand was placed on my shoulder and the room became cold but yet there was a comforting warmth to it. Even though nothing bad was happening I felt scared, so scared I called out for mom and dad.
Cody: "Mom! Dad!"
Not a minute later they both entered into my room.
Zak: "what's the matter Cody?"
Cody: "I don't know, something feels strange and I swear I felt something touch my shoulder"
Catherine (y/n): "don't be scared Cody, it could be someone come to visit you"
Zak: "your mom is right Cody, there's nothing to be afraid of. It might be your grandad or even one of your great grandmothers coming to visit. We both promise there's nothing to be scared of"
even though mom and dad are paranormal investigators and I know a lot about the paranormal and know its all around us. I'm not scared of it, but because of this other feeling I just felt, paranormal side frightened me a little.
Cody: "I'm not scared, it just startled me as I wasn't expecting it"
Catherine (y/n): "it can be a little bit of a shock when you're not expecting it Cody but as me and your dad just said there's nothing to be worried about. We're both always here for you through any experiences"
I didn't say anything but my mom wrapped her arms around me and gave me a hug. Soon enough I wasn't feeling scared or worried and everything felt normal again.
Zak: "if you need anything Cody, we're both here for you"
Cody: "thanks mom, thanks dad. Love you"
Zak: "love you too son"
Catherine (y/n): "love you too Cody"
After my mom and dad hugged me once more and made sure I was OK, they both left my room and I started to relax for a bit before bed.
