Alissa's P.O.V.

Everything had been going so great. the restoration of camp was going smoothly, along with the building of the new cabins. I finally got a break from the infirmary and was able to actually have a look around and help out. Until HE showed up. At first I thought maybe he was a new demigod, but noooo, it just had to be my annoying dad Apollo who'd been turned into a mortal by Zeus. And if that wasn't bad enough, my friend Sage who was supposed to be retrieving a demigod from a city in New Jersey wasn't back yet and it'd already been three weeks. Not I'd be able to understand that time if he was going farther out into the states, but the next state over? Yeah, no. Everything became so chaotic in the three days Dad spent at camp and I was once again swamped with work as almost everyone at camp came down with hay fever. When he left on the morning of the forth day with his companions, I got an idea and approached Chiron.

"Hey Chiron?"

"Hmm? Oh, hello Alissa. Is there something you need?"

"I'd like to go find my friend Sage and the demigod he was supposed to bring. He's been gone for way to long and I have a bad feeling something has happened to him and possibly the new demigod."

Chiron rubbed his chin, pondering my request.

"I don't know. We may need your barrier if this situation starts to escalate," he says gesturing to where my father had disappeared down the hill.

"I know, but I feel that this is something I need to. Please Chiron?" 

He sighs. "Very well, gather whatever you need and bring it back here. I'll tell you the location and name of the city he went to, as well as Sage's mission details when you get back."

I grin and take off down the hill towards my cabin." Thanks Chiron!" I call over my shoulder. I run past the Big House and the volleyball courts, jumping the stream that runs from the woods to the lake and entering the cabin area. I slow down a bit and walk into my cabin, heading over to my bunk and grabbing a few spare sets of clothes as well as my gear and the magical collapsing tent I got as a gift from Aunt Artemis last year. I say hi to my sister Kayla on my way out and head to the forge to see Ellie. Walking in, I'm immediately blasted with the intense heat, but ignore it and scan the room for a familiar dark-skinned daughter of Hephaestus. I spot her working on a new batch of my custom smoke bomb arrows and approach her, lightly tapping her on the shoulder to get her attention.

"Wha- oh hi Als. What's up?" she stops working and turns to face me.

"You got any batches done?"

"So soon? You going somewhere?" she raised an eyebrow at me.

"Yeah. Since Sage has been gone for an unnaturally long time, I'm going to go find him."

"Don't those excursions of his usually take awhile?"

"Yes, but he already knew who the demigod was and where they were. It should have been a simple week-long pick up."

Her eyes widen as she realizes the situation. "And he's been gone for three.."

I nod. She stands up and walks over to a cabinet, opening it to reveal dozens of arrows stacked neatly inside. She pulls out several from a few different shelves and sets them on the table in front of me.  

"I got one batch of the smoke arrows complete, as well as some explosive ones, some greek fire ones, and a couple of sleeping gas ones too, along with the regulars."

I pull out my quiver and start placing the arrows inside.

"Be careful out there, okay? I don't want to lose both of my best friends." She pulls me into a hug. I squeeze back reassuringly.
