I wish to come closer,
I wish to let lose.
To feel the thunder,
Just like you do.
You always hold my hand,
And let me see the world through your eyes.
You talk about beaches and sand,
And all those things that make me smile. At nights I dream,
About you and the things you've seen.
You ask me to come along,
You tell me to stay strong.
You nurture my fantasies,
Until they bloom like dasies.
Your kind and compelling words,
Make me feel like a free bird. But the moment you step outside,
And ask me to do the same.
All my wishes downsize,
They appear lame.People with eyes so judgemental,
That their words pierce my heart.
I become deeply skeptical,
And put up my guard. You say,
It will be okay.
But I know it's not.
It's something I know, not just a thought.
The house's threshold,
It torments me to the core.
So I halt my steps,
Disappointment is all that's left.My dreams have died,
And fantasies seem so faraway.
With a sad smile,
I ask you to go away.
Because not even your support can bridge this gap,
I'm a woman, not a man.
