Chapter 19: Candy Check.

10 houses later, Kathy's bucket was almost all the way full, but still didn't get any peanut butter M&M's. It was almost time to for the Halloween party, as the autopilot was still on, and Ellie helped sort the candy.

"This Halloween stinks," Kathy said. "I've been to 11 houses, and not one has peanut butter M&M's. I'm starting to think that you human's don't even have that anymore." "Well, Earth was out of stock due to the Corona virus," Forster explained. "You can't blame people who restock on toilet paper, and food, because they're trying to avoid a disease. Let's hope Biden is president after this night is over though, we should really hear an idea from him to see what the cure is."

"Here Kathy, we have one more stop, before we head to the ship," Ellie said. "How about I go with you." "Won't the person at the door disapprove of what your wearing?" Kathy asked. "Uh, I'm sure it'll be fine," Ellie answered. "After all, I'm wearing Forster's jacket, so it should be fine, if I cover up the top part of what I'm wearing."

"They can still see your ass," Forster explained. "Not if I face them," Ellie said. "Now, come on Kathy. I'll show you a trick I learned when I was at your age." Forster opened the shuttle door, after parking at the last house, then Ellie, and Kathy left through the door of the shuttle. "Now the trick I learned is if you close your eyes while you raise your basket, and empty it when you get back in the car, you might get the candy you like," Ellie explained. "Are you sure that'll work if I do that?" Kathy asked.

"Well I always got the candy I liked, when I did it," Ellie answered. "For me it was Reese's cups." Ellie, and Kathy then arrived at the doorstep of the house, and saw a person at the door. Kathy then closed her eyes, and raised her bucket, once she came close to the person at the door. "Trick or treat," Kathy said, and the stranger placed a small sack, with a question mark on it in her trick or treat bucket. "Happy Halloween," the stranger said, and closed the door. "Alright Kathy, now let's head back to the shuttle, and do a candy check," Ellie said, and they both returned to the shuttle. Ellie emptied Kathy's trick or treat bucket, to help her sort the candy. "Okay, we can throw away the candy corn, and give you the rest of the fun stuff," Ellie said.

"Make sure to get out the metal detector, and see if any of those candy's have a razor blade," Forster explained. "I don't Kathy cutting herself." Ellie pulled out the metal detector from the chair, and used it to scan the candy. It didn't beep however, meaning no razor blades were found. "Now let's see," Ellie said. "Hershey bar, Butter-finger, Crunch bar, Star-Burst, Reese's-Pieces, Snickers Bar, Skittles, Sour Patch's, Kit-Kat's, 3 musketeers, oh and one bag left. You mystery sack." "Let's see what's in here," Kathy said.
