Raven entered the new potions class the next morning with her typical sigh. It was a habit now, not that she was happy to be in a Hogwarts classroom when a million thoughts ran through her mind laced with the large tattoo on her forearm that was thankfully covered by the sleeve of her rob. The new teacher gave her a hello, a nice one with a kind old man smile.
"Hi." Raven said under her breath with a tight lipped smile before heading to the front of the class with everyone else. Hermione hadn't stopped glaring at her since she'd walked into the room, bumping shoulders with the muggle born girl and standing next to Pansy.
"Where were you at breakfast?" the shorter girl asked under her breath as Raven glanced at her in the corner of her eye.
"Slept in." she lied, picking at the blisters on the inside of her fingers from pulling the arrows back so much. Pansy shrugged as the new teacher stood before the class, next to the many potions he'd prepared.
Raven didn't sleep much that night, it was to hard. She had so much on her mind, so much regret and worry already. She would close her eyes and then open them moments later, not being able to help it. She didn't sleep much the night before that either, it was safe to say she was running on a hour most in the last forty eight hours.
The dark circles under her eyes gave it away tremendously, or maybe the way her eyes drooped terribly. Raven applied cold spoons to them this morning and it helped a lot but it was no secret they still look absolutely horrible. Draco worried for her, watching his cousin from a few feet away though he knew sooner or later he'd resemble her sleep-less eyes and stressed features.
Before Professor Slughorn could began talking, two figures stumbled into the room. Raven rolled her eyes at the two, a sigh leaving her lips, knowing class would surely get pushed over just for them.
"Ah! Harry, my boy, I was beginning to worry." Slughorn spoke as he gave the Potter boy a smile while Ron Weasley stood at his side.
"Oh, how fun, Granger finally has friends in a class." Raven snickered to Pansy, only loud enough for Hermione to roll her dark eyes at the comment made from behind her.
"We've brought someone with us, I see." Slughorn said as he took notice of Ron now who quickly put a soft and goofy smile on his face.
"Ron Weasley, sir." Ron said as he shuffled, Raven caught Hermione glaring at Lavender who lit up the moment Ron walked in, "But i'm dead awful at potions, a menace, actually. So, i'm probably just gonna-"
"Non-sense! We'll sort you out. Any friend of Harry's is a friend of mine." Slughorn waved him off after Ron attempted to leave but Harry pulled him back, "Get your books out."
"Ugh, sorry sir, but I haven't actually got my book yet, and nor has Ron." Harry spoke again as Slughorn turned to pear at the two once more. Raven rubbed her tired eyes, smelling the peppermint she ate this morning on them and immediately pulling them away.
