Haven woke up with a feeling of content. She felt warmth radiate from the body sleeping next to her. Coden's arm was wrapped around her securely and she couldn't help but subconsciously snuggle farther into his chest.

After the night's scene she had invited him in for coffee and due to the tiredness and happy feeling the two had embraced, she had offered him to stay the night to which he readily had agreed. Throughout the night they had cuddled and explored the line they had crossed.

Waking up next to someone has it's own beauty. For Haven it meant not having to feel alone and the struggle of getting up was a problem for her in itself, but not today. Today was different, because today she had Coden. The man who turned her world upside down the minute he wrapped his arms around her in the middle of rush hour in New York City.

She convulsed sharply as the sound of her ringtone blared through the peaceful environment of her apartment.

Gently, and as quietly as possible she moved out of Coden's grip and quickly answered the phone call.

"Hello?" She spoke groggily into the line, wondering who could be calling her at a time of seven a.m. on a Saturday morning.

"Haven." The person on the other end spoke her name sharply.

She felt her back stiffen at the coldness of the voice. "Mother." She replied equally as stoic and impassive.

"I was calling to see how you were doing." Her mother said, although it sounded forced and annoyed.

"What do you really want, mother?" Haven asked, knowing fully well that her mother wasn't one to sugarcoat things and she'd rather her get to the point.

Haven saw Coden's body stir and quickly exited her room as to not wake him.

"That is no way to speak to your mother!" Her mother screeched in that fake high pitched voice of hers that Haven couldn't help but simply roll her eyes at.

"Maybe if you acted like one..." Haven trailed off, her eyes widening.

Where did all this confidence come from? She couldn't help but wonder.

"Excuse me!" Her mother yelled once again, successfully deafening Haven's eardrum.

"What is it that you needed?" Haven asked, getting annoyed with having to hear her mother's shrill voice so early in the morning.

"Well, Debra's daughter Becky told Debra that she had seen you with a man, a handsome one at that. Brown hair, green eyes, the works." Her mother explained.

Haven felt her face flush, wondering what her mother would think knowing that the same man was in her bed at that very moment.

"Yes and?"

"I was wondering if he's seen your face. I mean look at you! What does he possibly see in you? You should thank your damn lucky stars that he found something in that ugly appearance of yours! No wonder Debra sounded so upset over the phone! That man, from what I've hear probably deserves better than you." Her mother ranted, though Haven began to tune her out as tears began to well in her eyes.

Her self-doubt and low self-esteem assisted the tears rolling down her face as she hit the end button on her phone.

Haven buried her head in the palm of her hands as her shoulders began to shake with silent sobs.

Not even a minute after she had begun to cry she felt and arm on her shoulder. Looking up with eyes that were probably already starting to redden she stared at Coden who looked at her with a worried expression as if silently asking 'what's wrong?'

She shook his hand off her shoulder and stood up. Haven knew in some aspect her mother was right. What would a man like Coden want anything to do with a girl like a her? A girl who can be easily replaced by anyone at the snap of a finger.

"Why?" She whispered.

Coden stared at her with confusion taking over his features.

"Why?" She asked louder. "Why do you spend so much time with me? I'm not worth it!"

"What are you talking about?" Coden asked her.

"Have you seen me?" She asked. "I'm not pretty and you can have anyone you want, I mean look at you! Why me? Why would you pick me over someone who could make you ten times as happier than I can?" She asked just above a whisper as her knees gave out and she sank to the floor.

Coden rushed to her side in seconds and cradled her as she sobbed into his neck.

"Because, you're my safe, Haven." He whispered lightly.

"You're so beautiful, but you don't see it. You are such an amazing woman and I should be asking you why me? I love your laugh. I love the way you smile at me as if I'm the only one in the room. I love the way your eyes twinkle when you tell me about your day. I love that dimpled in your left cheek when you smile. I love the feeling of soft lips on mine. And I love the way you can make me feel whole again just by being with me."

He lifted her chin up so he could see straight into her eyes as he spoke the next following words.

"And Haven, I love the fact that I think I might be falling completely and utterly in love with you." He said before kissing her longingly and passionately as the questions of self-doubt flew right out of her mind.

"I think I might being falling harder." She whispered as snuggled deeper into his chest.
