I washed my face with the cold liquid from the sink.

I tried to will the water to clear my mind also, to no avail.

I had to tell Adam that I wasn't interested.

I started having a conversation with myself in my mind. One side arguing that I hated Owen... And the other...

No!

I splashed more cold water on my face, which was starting to get uncomfortably cold.

The water didn't work.

I walked out of the bathroom and walked around the ship (carefully checking for Adam or Owen before inspecting for Dawn or Thalia)
I eventually saw Thalia's bright yellow outfit, and I ran over.

"Thalia!" I called over.

"Oh hey, did you need something?"

I was glad to have found her without Daniel.

"I need your help." I dragged her into the reactor, glad to find that nobody else was introduced there.

"What are we doing in here?" Thalia whispered at me aggressively.

I sighed and faced her, "Adam kissed me."

Her expression went from surprised to sly in record time, "Oh?" Her tone speaking volumes.

I glared at her, "I don't like Adam."

"I'm confused."

I groaned, "I have no interest in Adam and I have no idea how to tell him that." I sighed, "That's why I need your help. You're more experienced than I am."

Thalia laughed, "I mean, yeah, but, uh, I don't know. Just tell him?"

"Yes but how?"

Thalia dragged me out of reactor. "Normally you're confident and exuberant, why am I the one who had to fill in when you're off your game?"

"I'm sorry! But this whole situation has thrown me for the loop."

She dragged me through the corridors until we found Adam. "Adam." She called out to him.
Oh, right now...

"Yeah?" He turned away from who he was talking to (I tried to remember his name, it was either Tom or Mike.)

"Adeline has something to say to you."

Tom (or Mike) pat Adam's shoulder and mumbled to him that he was gonna go, I was grateful, it would make this a tad easier.

"Adam, I know I'm a bit late, but here it goes. I'm sorry, I just don't like you... Like that." I played with my fingers nervously as his face fell. He tried to smooth his expression.

"Oh,"

Thalia grabbed my wrist, "Yeah, so, sorry." She dragged me away from him and I left.

A few days later, with no words from the outside Vallerie ran into the cafeteria, (where everyone was playing card games) "Guys, one of the employees just told me they came play music over the speakers that blast the alarm."

A few people spoke at the same time, "Speakers blare the alarm?" "Let's play the gummy bear song." "Cool!"

I nodded my head and turned back to Dawn. "Any... Queens?"

"Go fish."

Vallerie groaned, pulling our attention back to her. "Guys! Really?"

A few apologies were muttered. "Did you need something?" Millie asked.

Vallerie opened her mouth. Then closed it. She held up her pointer finger, then rushed out of the room.

A few minutes later, some swing music started playing.

I heard someone groan.

Vallerie rushed back into the room. "Come on guys. It's not like we have anything better to do!"
"I don't know how to dance." Julie protested.
Vallerie smiled, "Then I'll teach you."

When nobody got up from where they were sitting, Vallerie went up to Jack and pulled him up.

Pulling him into a dance, she started dancing along to the music with him.
