Chapter 14: Engaged.

Adeline's POV:

I sat on the couch and waited for Owen to come get me.

I was always punctual when I went to get him for AULAG, and usually so was Owen.

Something must be keeping him...

I laughed as someone on the TV slipped and fell.

Owen's POV:

I was nervous.

Adeline and I have been dating for 4 years.
She was 20 now, and I was 21...

Which felt young.

But I wanted Adeline all to myself.

So, I picked up the ring today.

We'd talked about getting married, and Adeline wasn't opposed to the idea, so why not?

She'd shown me rings she liked a few times, and when I asked Dawn and Thalia they had more than a few recommendations, so when I asked Dawn to accompany me the first time I went, she immediately knew which one I should get Adeline.

I was grateful for her advice.

I had everything planned out, and even the employees at the Among Us Live Action Studio were in on it.

But now I was sitting on the side of the road, with cold feet.

Not because I didn't want to spend the rest of my life with her, but...what if she said no?

I took a deep breath and finally opened the car door. Taking one step at a time I knocked on the door.

Her dad opened it. He gave me a bright smile and invited me inside.

Her dad gave me a slap on the back, "She'll say yes, don't doubt her." He whispered.

Her dad was very supportive of us, and when I'd asked him if he was okay if I proposed, he said, "I couldn't stop you two if I tried."

I gave him a nervous smile as he called out, "Adeline! It's your favorite person!"

"Owen?" I heard the love of my life call out from the living room.

Then the most beautiful, bubbly person bounced around the corner and smiled bright as the sun. "Owen!" She ran up and gave me a hug.

"You saw him yesterday, why are you so happy?" Her dad asked.

"Because I love seeing him!" Adeline pulled away, "You ready to go?"
