Rin's POV

It was just any other normal Thursday. I slept in until almost 11 o'clock and went to the quiet little cafe near my apartment to work on a song. I mean, my apartment is so small, I can barely walk in it sometimes. The cafe is way better for working on music. Not to mention, they have really good food and drinks.

Gumi, the barista would make me a nice latte and I might request some breakfast, if I felt like it. We'd have a talk while I worked on music. I heard Gumi has been wanting to head to university. Sure, she seemed to love being a barista, but yet again she seemed to have the smarts to get a good degree.

I was thinking about whether to get miso soup or pickled vegetable soup with my latte for breakfast, because I felt like it today. I was expecting Gumi, simply waiting for me, ready to serve. The cafe didn't get that many customers anyway. What I didn't except to see a new barista that made my heart beat fast.

The barista was just waiting for someone to come around. She was dressed up in the normal uniform, the black ovals, white shirt and shorts, but there was something different about it that made my small face blush. And then her hair. It was teal and long, tied up in two ponytails. Her eyes matched her hair colour, when they were right under the light it almost glowed. I felt my face heating up.

"Goooood-morning! What would you like?" Her voice spoke the sounds of sweet bird's chirping.

"Uh...mi-miso soup and a l-latte please".

"Coming right up! You can have a seat at a table, or sit right here!"

"Uh, I'll stay here, t-thanks." Usually I'd go to a table and work on my music, but I really wanted to get to know this girl. She was pretty cute and seemed really nice.

"Ah great, thanks!"

I had a seat at the bench she was working at. I wanted to get to know her, but I don't know what I should ask her. I mumbled words, but they never came out, other than a blush on my face. Finally I said something.

"Hey, what's your name?"

"Oh, my name?" The cute teal haired girl seemed like she was willing to talk. "It's Hatsune Miku. Speaking of names, what's your's?"

"Ka-Kagamine Rin."

"Well, it's very nice to meet you Rin-San!" Miku replied.

It was always a cozy and quiet place, this cafe, but Miku gave off a different vibe. She always had a smile and was so, so happy and so so cute...seems like I've got another crush.

"I heard of the previous barista, Gumi-San that you were a regular here."

I almost forgot about Gumi. She also gave off a really nice vibe and made my visit more enjoyable, but in terms of Miku it was different. I don't dislike Gumi or anything, she's still a nice friend. I should probably ask about her, given that I haven't been able to contact her.

"Oh yeah, I always come here on Thursdays. Speaking of it, what happened to Gumi?"

"Resigned. Saids it was easier cause she's started going to university."

"Oh really? Good for her." I was quite happy for Gumi, she was going to finally get a degree that she was wanting. I'll probably ask her when I contact her. "What happened to her shifts?"

"I took them. I've known her for 2 years now. I was hunting for a job for a while so when Gumi left she offered me her's."

"That's must be really good for you!" This stranger, who I just meet today, called Miku, was really nice and caring. Not to mention she was cute. What-how many times have I said that today?

This really is a big fat crush.

"Hey Rin-San, do you work on music? I heard from Gumi that you'd come in here and write songs."

"Oh-uh yeah Hatsune-San"

"No need to call me by my last name. Personally I just like people calling each other by their first. Unless you do-"

"Oh no, it's fine Miku-San!" Being able to address her by her first name made it seem like we really were friends. I blushed a little.

"Ah, your latte is ready Rin! Heeeeerreee youuuuu gooooooo!"

I was just about to drink it but then I saw the cute little design. It was a heart designed with little smaller ones in it. In the corner there was a small leek. It made me smile, smile so bright.

"This is amazing Miku-San! Thank you very much!" I looked at Miku who replied with "Your Welcome!" and couldn't help but notice her pink were a little pink.

Miku's POV

Gumi always said Rin was a very nice and caring person, but I never expected her to be this cute. This was one of the best comments that I'd gotten of my work. And it was off someone I only meet today, serving a latte. Not to mention the way she said.

Her smile was wider than the deep blue ocean. She was talking in a genuine, sweet, cute tone. We suddenly went into a moment of silence. I couldn't stop staring at her. That smile she had. That face and short hair with the small little bow on top. I just wanted to tickle her in every spot possible. She was cute, and I couldn't help but look at her petite figure and-

"Ding-ding, I think someone ordered some Miso Soup," the chef said, clearly annoyed that I wasn't serving and just talking.

"Ah-coming! I'll be right back Rin-San!"

GOD DAMMIT MIKU THIS GIRL IS SO NICE AND SO CUTE AND THERE'S A 69% CHANCE YOUR CRUSHING ON HER AND YOU REALLY WANT TO BE FRIENDS SO AT LEAST LOOK GOOD!!!!!!!!!

I rushed back and delivered the miso soup as quick as possible, almost tripping and making the situation worse. God, if only I'd payed more attention.

"S-sorry...I really wasn't paying attention..."

"No, it's okay. It's a lot of fun talking with you, Miku-San!" She replied, with a bright smile. But yet...

"I just wanted to look....good I guess. And yet I messed up so bad. Ah..this is so embarrassing."

Before I knew it, Rin grabbed my hand.

"Hey, you don't have to be perfect. Imperfection makes us human."

"R-Rin-chan"

"After all I really liked the latte, it was really pretty and tasty! Plus your fun, kind, cu-caring and excellent at what you do! So don't worry about the mistakes. Soon enough, you'll be an amazing barista."

"T-thank you. I could say the same to you Rin-chan. Even the part where you nearly called me cute."

Her cheeks turned a bright pink at this and so did mine. "You know, I've got a lot of new song ideas from meeting you."

I smiled at her. "A meaningful song or a cheesy one?"

"W-what!" Her cheeks were even pinker. "Why are you even asking me that?"

"Alth....like......both"

"What were you saying~I couldn't hear"

"N-nothing!"

And we both burst out laughing at our own silliness.

Who knows what this meeting at the cafe could lead too?
