Birthday Boy

It was his birthday today, as much as i hate him he is fun to be around and he brightens up my days at times

I decided I'll give him a gift, agh! I don't know if i fallen in love with him or not! His eyes are captivating and his smile is so bright this guy is messing up my brain!

I got a box, i placed a few chocolate bars and a box of strawberries with strawberry milk with strawberry chocolate

'This should be all his favourites i assume'

I wrapped the box with wrapping paper

'Hopefully the strawberries don't go bad in the box'

Wait why am i doing this for him either way!? Its not like i like him or anything, ugh whatever

I carry the box and started to walk over to Yorozuya

"Hijikata san, who are you gonna give that to?" Sougo asked

"Today is Yorozuya's birthday, with the amount of times he helped us out i figured i could give him a gift" i shrugged, Sougo looked at me confused

"Yorozuya? Oh Yorozuya Shin chan? Hijikata san today isn't glasses birthday" Sougo lifts his eyemask

"Yorozuya Shin chan? No its Yorozuya Gin chan" I face palmed thinking Sougo was messing with me

"Something's wrong with your brain, I'll explode it for you" He pulled out a cannon out of nowhere and shot me, i ran away before i could get shot

"What does that brat mean by Yorozuya Shin chan, hes the one who has something wrong with his head!" I grumbled

As i started to see the sign, i was horrified to see 'Yorozuya Shin chan'

Eh? Ehh!? Whats this!? Am i in the wrong universe, bring me back to my world please!

I entered to see if glass and china were the same, i entered to see that they were. I sighed in relief

"You two" i called out, they faced me with tears in their eyes

"Whats wrong? Where's your dad?" I asked

"He's gone"

"When we woke up we were about to celebrate his birthday but when we asked Otose san about this she said i owned the store" Glasses explained with tears running down

"Wait wait wait, what do you mean by hes gone!? Like he just disappeared?" I questioned, dropping the box on the table

"No it seems that he never existed in the first place when we asked Zura he said he only knew Takasugi and Sakamoto" Kagura cried

"I-Its okay! I'll get to the bottom of this don't worry!" I hugged the two like their father would

After them calming down, i placed the box in the fridge, i went out to smoke a cigarette

"Hijikata san, you drank with Gin san last night right?" Glasses asked for confirmation

"Yeah, the last thing he said was.."

"May i be gone, i will be by the lake watching the sunset into the river.

I may not exist

"He said it as a poem, i was drunk and didn't really care.." as i thought of what he said

"Wait a minute.." i mumbled

"Gl- Shinpachi i think i may know where Gintoki is" i stepped on the cigarette

"Really?" Shinpachi wiped his tear, i smiled and nodded

"But it'll have to be at sunset" i said, he smiled and bowed

"Thank you for always helping us out when we are in trouble" He thanked

"Well its the least i could do since your boss kept coming and helping me out" I chuckled, he went back in

I watched kabuki cho district on the balcony, I can't believe he just doesn't exist like that, only his kids and i remember who he is what kind of crap is this!?

I realized the sun will set soon, i told Shinpachi that Gintoki will be back, he smiled with Kagura and thanked me

I started running to the lake, i ignored Katsura and Sougo, i ignored everything behind me and only chased after one man

I saw him, his kimono with blue waves at the end flew with the breeze
He wore a kitsune mask for some reason

instead of attacking him i decided to just embrace him with his body warmth

Suddenly..

I embraced i felt his warmth but he started disappearing
He placed his mask on my face
I was confused
Why was he acting like this?
I felt him kiss the mask
When i took it off he was gone
His clothes were on the wood bridge
I raised a brow
I laughed thinking he just hid
I called out his name
No reply
I called out his name again
No reply

"Gintoki?"

"Gintoki!" I woke up

"What the fuck?" I grumbled

"Hijikata san i see you prepared a gift for him" Sougo smirked and pointed at the box

"Wait you remember him?" I asked

"Of course?" He raised a brow

'Oh.. It was just a dream..'

"Whatever, im heading off" i took the box and when i closed the gates of Shinsengumi barracks

I started dashing to Yorozuya praying that the sign still said Yorozuya Gin chan

It did.

I sighed in relief and smiled

I went up the stairs and felt hesitant to ring the doorbell

"Yo Hijikata" He slid the door open

"Ah- Yorozuya" i called out, he waved at me and smiled

"Gin chan! You got into jail!" Kagura yelled

"What!? I got into jail!? No way i just used my last get out of jail card!" Gintoki grumbled

"Oh, wanna join us?" He asked.

"Sure" i smiled, i pulled his wrist and pulled him to the middle of the stair

"I had a strange dream" i smiled, he smiled back

I placed my lips on his and he pressed back
