Friday morning came around a lot faster than Peter would have liked, but nevertheless he got up, dressed, ate and waited for Harley and Morgan. Peter wore one of his normal science pun shirts with a grey jacket, black jeans and black vans shoes, along with his wristwatches-actually web shooters, but disguised. It was a full day field trip to his house, so all Peter took with him was his phone and earphones.
Happy drove them to school, Harley wished Peter good luck, laughed then left to join his friends. It was 5 minutes to 7.30am, so Peter was on time, he walked over the iconic yellow bus which was already letting students on. He and Ned sat in the middle of the bus with MJ in front of them, far enough away from Flash at the back of the bus.
About halfway through the ride to the Tower, someone called Peter's name interrupting Ned's rambling on about who they would get to meet on their trip.
"Hey Parker!" Flash called, "Ready for your lie to get exposed?"
"Just thrilled." Peter mumbled sarcastically, sliding further down in his seat.
For the remainder of the ride, most of the team was talking about the press conference held on Wednesday about the 'new' Stark. "Do you think we'll meet her?" "How does she know Spider-Man and one of the topmost secret agents?" "Who is she?" "Did you know they had a 10-year-old daughter?" and "Why would they adopt a new daughter?" were just a few of the questions still being asked.
They were finally at the Tower, everyone got out of the bus and marveled at the sheer height of it, all except Peter, and MJ who wasn't interested. Peter hadn't brought Ned to the Tower yet, so he was super excited. The team entered the lobby, Peter walked at the back with MJ, and Ned in front of them, trying not to be seen by all the people he knew. Mr. Harrington checked in for the '8.30am Midtown Tech Tour' and was told to wait on the seats for their guide.
The group had to sign NDAs, so that if something happened and someone blabbed about it to anyone, then Tony Stark could sue them. Peter looked around the lobby and noticed all the extra SHIELD Agents, he wondered what for.
The team's eyes all flicked up when they heard a ding come from the smaller, private elevator, the doors opened to reveal Alex Stark! Everyone was shocked, including Peter. Alex was wearing black combat boots, loose blue ripped jeans, a tight fit black crop shirt and a slightly too big green cargo jacket hanging around her shoulders. Her hair was braided in two very long plaits, black roots showing an ombre-ish effect with her light tips.
Alex was looking at her phone and hadn't noticed they were there until she got a feeling to look up. The group was standing in a bunch, and she was a bit confused until she saw Peter at the back.
"Oh, hey guys. You must be Peter's class." She said enthusiastically, making her way to Peter. "Hey Pete! I didn't get to see you yesterday, you really scared us the other night, feeling okay?" She laughed lightly, oblivious to the bewildered class, and Peter's ever reddening face. "Mom told me to come and tell you that Dad has a 'surprise' for you and to give you your pass, you left it on the table this morning. You won't get out of this that easy." She said with a sympathetic smile, handing him a red badge from her pocket.
"Steve wants to know what you want for dinner too. I've got to go with Happy to meet Fury, so I will see you later." Alex hugged Peter before seeing that Peter was holding hands with the girl next to him, 'this must be MJ' she thought. Just like that she turned on her heel and walked away, before she exited the door, she shouted; "Good luck Parker!" not turning around, but holding a peace sign up in the air.
Everyone stood there in silence for a few seconds before Flash shouted, "WHAT THE HELL PARKER?!" Peter didn't look up, suddenly the whole class erupted into questions, "How do you know Alex Stark?" "What happened yesterday?" "Why did she hug you?" "What were you doing here yesterday?" "Why does 'Steve' want to know what you want for dinner?" 'Not again please' Peter thought.
