the support kept flooding in like a hurricane, so much so that elle was forced to mute her twitter notifications and go make herself a grilled cheese to calm down. the amount of love and kind words bombarding her feed was nearly overwhelming; her chest felt so tightly wound with nerves and energy that she almost found it difficult to breathe every now and then.

how did it get so much attention in seven hours? the most her videos usually got was around 3 to 4k views—this one had over 100k, and still quickly climbing.

munching quietly at her grilled cheese, elle risked a glance at her phone to see the notifications still piling on. for the most part, she wasn't able to reply to every comment due to the lightning speed at which they increased, but for a split second, she thought she saw something in particular—or someone—that made her heart skip a beat. it couldn't be, though.

disbelief crowding every corner of her brain, elle unlocked her phone, searching for the one thing that caught her eye. she almost hoped that she had imagined it, because if it were real, she might actually just poof out of existence. this was so much attention that she wasn't used to.

scrolling, scrolling, scrolling—stop. there.

there it was; a comment from dream himself. all it said was, "fucking pog," and elle took a moment to just process all the things that that could possibly mean. in conclusion, she decided that it probably meant fucking pog.

everything just hit her like a bulldozer at once; the crushing weight of the thought that hundreds of thousands of people had taken the time to watch something that she had poured her heart and time into slammed into her at full force—and the fact that one of those people was dream. that was the craziest part.
