Dearest Friend

This is coming from nowhere

Not a plan here or there per line I stare

A friend just like me

Yet somehow less hate I see

While I cradle the pain I feel like a knife

It is shoved deep into her spine

Her own hands committed the crime

She stands near to those who swing with the most force

And I wish not to damage her so

Knowing she knows no else

Growing up with an ass as her health

Who knows the full extent the fucker caused

And I can't pull her from his paws

She'd never feel the same about me

If she knew the insane way I hated thee

I've never felt more helpless

Helping one who can't be helped

I'll listen to her rock

Because I know what she sings is true despite the shock

The metal through the speakers

And feed the skinny anxious body who seems it may be getting weaker

You can't sleep in unfamiliar surroundings

It's the same for me which is really not astounding

I can hardly sleep without my dog's wagging tail

And even then more and more recently sleep seems to fail

I know it's late for you to be up right now

Even though you seem to be wide awake, how?

I don't find it surprising

As the music keeps arising

And your voice mildly frays

Is it only here that you may never feel safe?

Or is sleep seldom left without nightmares?

And a young voice screaming in quiet affairs

Your little ghost friend I'm not horribly sure you have

But what lie might you come up with as to split relationships into halves

Not that it hasn't happened before

But you have files on each and every horror

And the pain of disbelief may be too much for you to bare

I won't be the one to give you that burden so unfair

Do you talk to this ghost all night?

You never seem to be in fright

So it's cool

And I'll believe what others may call a fool

And I promise never to hurt you farther

And by the way I'll always hate your fucking father
